Well, just got off the phone with a dear friend of mine. She has been very reliable on DVC and other land plans for Disney. We discussed the CRV plans floating the internet. She acknowledged that they are real, BUT, they are one of dozens. DVC continues to commission architects for different options at different locations. She would not acknowledge that there will be a CRV (nor would she deny). She did say that folks holding out for a CRV in the near future will most likely be disappointed. Interestingly she did mention that Eagle Pines was never canceled, just "postponed". Disney already did some work on the area. She also mentioned the old airport site (again) with the idea of modifying the traffic around the area. She also mentioned that a partnership with another well known and well thought of corporation on non-DVC sites is a strong possibility. One company under consideration is someone that at one time was going to manage the hotels (I guess Eisner backed out of that deal?). Not sure who, but sounds pretty big.

One final comment. She said that Disney does read DisBoard as well as others. She also mentioned that DVC was doing a survey right now. The apparent focus is on using Conceriege (sp?) and other non-Disney sites. This is to help them gauge the use of a partnership for future expansion. :confused3

Maybe I'm just overly optimistic, or I'm just too excited about a CRV, but I think it's a done deal. There's just too much evidence pointing toward it, especially the fact that nothing has been done with the North Wing. I can't help but think if they were going to just renovate it they would have started by now. I also can't imagine it just sitting empty for any prolonged period of time. I'm looking forward to hearing some kind of news in October.

I received the above mentioned survey last week. Most of the questions were regarding staying off-site and types of accomodations we prefer, specifically concierge.

I'm actually glad to hear this. I didn't like that high rise that was on the drawings. Too high. Too many rooms facing each other.

Hummm... I can't see them waiting any longer. Those north wing rooms are getting awful old!

Well I think we all knew that, but I secretly hoped the plans would get lost in the bottom of the drawer.

This sounds like what someone had posted a map of before. Hey, that was you! Did you create that map or take it from another forum?

All very fun rumors. Thanks.

I suppose that the building permit for AKL work is the closest thing to proof that they will be doing something over there.
I would still love the Contemporary to have a DVC part . . .. :goodvibes
Or the Poly. . ..but that hasn't even been hinted at, so I will just have to wait, I guess. :wave2:

Ever since Eagle Pines wen't so far into the planning stages and then just got kind of postponed indefinitely, I don't believe any DVC resorts are happening until they're actually built.

Don't think anyone could have said it better.

Until they decide to tear down BCV, there is no bubble to burst for us. :wizard:

For what it's worth . . .

Our DVC Guide called and spoke to my wife last week. She asked him what the next resort will be (she's hoping for AKL). His reply was "I can't tell you untill October." He said that he'll call us back then.

Not sure this means anything, but it could be a clue!

I just took this survey.. it was emailed to me. I would much rather DVC build onsite rather than spend energy on the concierge collection. I personally bought because of DISNEY.. not some other vacation.

Same here, and told them as much in the survey.

Interesting...we just took the tour at SS yesterday and our guide as much as confirmed that CRV is a done deal.

They also said that they thought the (North Garden Wing) demo was already well underway to make room, but we told them that it was still there when we went by it Sunday evening. The guide was surprised, but said they had not been over there in a little while.

I was under no impression whatsoever from them that it's NOT a sure thing. Our guide was quite liberal with the details, other than actually speaking the name of the resort, but we guessed that, of course.

The guide did mention that they think that many people will be scared away from it due to the maintenance fees. They expect them to start in the $6.00 per point range.

My bubble is far from burst; I believe the guide would have quashed the rumor right out of the gate if it really wasn't happening, because they would rather me buy SS now rather than wait for anything that might/might not happen.

I stated the same in the survey Jen. I may use the concierge collection a few times at most over the life of my Membership. But I'll stay at disney much more often.
Wow....$6/point maintenance for CRV. :scared1:

Boy how I would love to be a fly on the wall at a DVC management or planning meeting. I bet they get a good laugh over everything that gets floated around out here. Since they read this board and all...

In my purchase contract, there's a strange paragraph:

"Disney's resort at Eagle Pines is only a possible component site which may never be added to the Disney vacation Club Multi-Site timeshare plan. Do not purchase an interest in a Disney vacation Club resort in reliance upon the addition of component sites."

It looks like DVC is trying to prevent lawsuits resulting from some previous marketing of Eagle Pines.

In the current Vacation Magic, on the "15" years pictorial review, they mention that fact of making a presence at DL. SO what, is it that big of a deal? I know that they are only selling memberships out there but I have to believe that there is going to be a DVC resort somewhere out there soon!
