If this has been posted i apologize. I would like to know a scale rating the hats on a scale. 1 being the rarest. The hats that i would like to be in the scale would be Flip hat, Minnie Hat, Bird hat, Stitch hat, and Black Mickey ears. Thanks

While this is Aengus's forte, I'm pretty sure the order would be:

1- Stitch Hat
2- Minnie
3- Flip
4- Bird
5- Black ears

In my opinion I would have to say the order would be

Stitch Hat (Only Planning a Disneyland Resort Vaca.)
Flip Hat
Minnie Hat
Bird Hat (Buyable "Real" Pin Set)
Black Mickey Ears (Only from making a New Player in a Park)

Eh... they're on roughly the same scale. Some would say yes, others would say no. I personally think it would be.

I think Mint and smiley got it dead on.

I doubt you would get anyone to trade their minnie for that flip hat tho, there I will disagree with mint. The minnie trades for quite a bit more than the flip.

Yep. Which is why I've been able to trade for a flip hat and not for minnie.

Are black ears really more rare than gold ears? Black ears are still available and are free to anyone who creates a new character in the parks. Gold ears were only gained when you purchased at hat at a very specific shop at MK (WDW) and DLR and they are now retired. It's possible I am wrong, I just always viewed gold more rare than black.

I would say your gut is correct. While the gold were available the black were more sought after. The computers at VMK central are so bad and awkward alot of people just gave up before getting the ears LOL.

But now that gold are not available , I gladly trade those who still feel differently. You can still make that trade, but I think the pendulum is swinging the other way. You will find more people agreeing gold ears than black now.

Wait, am i missing something. I made a character at WDW in I think April and got nothing. Are they giving them out now?

yes, you should have gotten it. I remember for a while in April that nobody was getting them, it must have been a bug. We all thought they were retired, but like a week later it all started working again.

What about the In-Game Pirate Quest Hat? How far has that dropped in rarity after last month?

you mean the one that is a pirate prize?

Go with aengus on that;)

I'm learning a good bit from this thread. Reading other trade threads, I got the wrong impression about the values of those two hats. It's good to hear where they really stand.

It doesn't make much sense, though, considering they were sold for one weekend each, and both of their sales were only a couple weeks apart (unless I'm mistaken :confused3 )

The princess mini hat was unannounced. No warning :) The green hat we knew at the beginning of the month (hat month, november 2005) when it would be available so we saved up.

Yeah, which means that the hat's rarity dropped considerably.

I completely agree.

Okay, that makes sense. Though I guess they sort of "announced" the Minnie hat by selling it early for thirty minutes :rotfl:
