We will be at the world the first week in November. We are traveling with friends who have 4yo twin boys. One of them is quite fair and burns pretty quickly.

Does The Chapeau or DD shops have brimmed kids hats... like a bucket hat? We thought it might be easier than chasing him with the sunsceen all day ; )

We've been to WDW a dozen times, but this is the first time we'll be going with children!! We're more excited than they are.

There are tons of hats at Disney! The big Tent at Toon town has hats, as well as Emporium and Downtown Disney - and I've found some of the cutest safari hats (with brims) for my son. He happily wears his disney hat!

One tip - if for any reason your children want some pins, get a hat they can attach their pins to - it's a fun way to display them. My kids have fun with it - and they never forget their hat.

I think you would get some good info on our Disney for Families Board. I'm going to move it over for you. Thanks for posting. :)

They have some of the cutest hats that you have ever seen. Have fun buying one. However, still chase him with the sunscreen. Reflection off the pavement can still give him a burn and he might not leave the hat on.

My DS really sweats a lot (gets that from his dad's side of the family). It took me about 4 years to realize that a visor is the best hat for him. If he wears a hat--he really gets hot. The visor works very well to shade his face. A word of warning about purchasing anything at WDW. My DS left his Old Navy visor on the Buzz Lightyear ride in Jan. When we started looking around for another one to buy, they were around $20. Too much for a 5 year old to loose again! We went back to the Buzz ride--they had his visor! Go to Old Navy or Target and get a couple of hats or visors, right now they are all on sale for around $5. You'll be glad you did after you see the prices at Disney!:)

I got DS a red baseball hat at KMart last year for $3.99. Red is his favorite color and he loves it.
Watch the pins on the bucket hats--my girls did that the first year and after 8 pins or so it got pretty darn heavy--plus the constant worry about one falling off--so we limited it to 3, I think.

There is a hat called flap happy that has a visor and a flap around the back of the hat that protects the neck and ears. Excellent coverage from the sun and they come in fun designs in cool cotton.

There is an adorable hat especially for boys that has Mickey's face on the front and two large Mickey ears stick out on the sides. It's worth using sunscreen! :p

My boys are both pretty fair with blond hair and neither even got a tan when we went in May. I'm not the greatest with remembering sunscreen, either. We just used it first thing in the morning and about 30 minutes before swimming. People remember the back of the neck, but don't forget the tops of the ears!

I second the flap happy hats, I think that www.onestepahead.com or www.rightstart.com might carry them. Also, I took along a sunscreen stick which worked great for faces and ears. You can find hats of all sorts of sizes and styles throughout the parks also, the trick is that make sure he is happy with whatever style you get him or he won't want to wear it.
