Has your child ever embarrassed you in front of a character?

My DD age 3 is now completely potty trained. However, for the longest time we had to PLEAD with her to poop in the potty. We would always say..."Poo poo in the potty....Mickey will be so proud of you..." Well, now every time she poops she says "Mickey will be so proud of me and I will get to see him soon!" (We are going on Dec. 10th) Ok, so I guess you can see where this is going....I just KNOW my little princess will tell Mickey all about her poopoo when she sees him..... Oh my! Guess I should break out the video camera and preserve this moment for posterity (or should I say poopsterity! :teeth: )

If this is the case I would make sure my little one knows that Mickey and Friends can not speak. So while you have told her how proud Mickey will be Mickey will be unable to tell her so.

We were at the Ice Cream Social at GG one time and DS5 who was 3 at the time was really enjoying his ice cream when Mickey shows up and sits next to him. DS then said to Mickey... "Don't eat my ice cream!"

OMG! :earseek:

Last year, DS age 3 lifted up Sleeping Beauty's dress! She told him he was a curious prince, his reply..."I only wanted to see your shoes". DH turned about 3 shades of red he was so embarrassed.

Ny DS 2 embarrassed us all at the Disney Animation show. The CM running the presentation asked the audience to name their favorite characters and someone named "Winnie the Pooh" and then a little boy named "Donald Duck" to which my son blurted out in a loud, clear voice "Donald Duck Stinks!". My DH and DD's 11 and 10 and I turned red while everyone looked at us (while we quickly and quietly told DS that Donald Duck is very nice and it is not nice to say.......etc.....but the damage had been done!) :guilty:

The CM covered it so well by saying " Hey did someone just call me Goofy?"

OH! I thought you meant really embarassing, like your 10 year old swatting Minnie in the nose to make her go away...........

We had a not so funny experience at Epcot. The character bus had arrived at the front of the world showcase and we were all moving around to see the characters when my son (4 1/2) at the time found Pluto standing next to a hedge. He proceeded to punch him/her in the "doggy groin." I assume the CM dressed, was a boy by the way he doubled up and nearly fell over the hedge behind him. As you can imagine I was the first there to apologize but ... the damage was obviously done. What can you do?

When my son was 17 mo., he had been waiting in line for a couple of characters and was fine. Not totally into the experience, but fine waiting while DD's 6 and 4 got their autograph's.

Then we got in line to see Daisy Duck and when it was his turn he walked up to her and kicked her- No idea why. I was completely motified!
OMG- I could not have gotten away any faster after aplogizing.

I can't wait to see how this trip goes! Wish me luck-

Thirty years ago my little brother (age 3 at the time) asked Donald if he had "a pee-pee". My poor strait-laced Catholic mother was mortified.

Thanks, I needed a good chuckle for my Monday afternoon! My dd has never embarassed us in front of a character. She loves meeting characters but gets a little "star-struck" at times. She asked me to "yodel-lay-he-hoo" at Jessie. And "Ei" at Stitch! And she asked her Dad to remind Woody "you are a toy!"

Thanks for making my day. I'm still Laughing.

When younger DD was 2.5, we waited in line at Ariel's grotto and met the mermaid princess. My DD was fascinated by shells. Y'all can guess where this is going... We were most apologetic. The CM playing Ariel said not to worry that it happened quite frequently with younger children.

Of course, it didn't help matters that it happened at exactly the moment that I snapped the picture...
