Aww, sorry it didn't go so well for you.
We've found lunch to be the most boring of meals there... once we see ketchup bottles already on each table, that pretty much tells us.
Breakfast is more fun... but dinner is the most.
I think they have toned down the fun and antics over the years. We still always have some fun... but oh, no, nothing like our first time there in 2008. Just our table alone.... our friend got scolded and server yelled for whole restaurant to "Quiet down! Can't you see she's trying to talk on her cell phone!?" Server brought out desserts.... came to table with them and started eating them herself! (of course, brought out new ones also for us)... and my friend even got put in "jail" and got a summons written up for her. Table next to us some guy was wearing a big hat of... corn was it? They did the giant fork trick for another nearby table.... oh, just so much more even going on. Best time we ever had at dinner at WDW!
But the other, oh, probably 10 times, we've had dinner there, nothing compares to our first time. Sometimes get zilch antics, sometimes just a couple minor fun things like a LARGE soda.
Our second best time.... was so much fun - when we look back on it and laugh -certainly wasn't fun at the time- and wasn't even due to the servers. My sister was mad at her hubby because he spent the day at ESPN Club - and drank too much... my girls were tired. My sister had an attitude the whole meal. Then my autistic son in diapers... well, let's say what goes in, must come out..... went to leave the table with him and he was STUCK in the highchair - guess he JUST reached that too big for it limit! My sister was horrified. Her hubby tries to help me get him out and shouts loudly OMG, he has S*** in his pants!!! Sister embarrassed, telling him SHHHH! Had to lay the entire highchair, with son in it, on its side on the floor and finally pried him out. People got up from their tables to say oh, my, can we help you? My daughter at table crying because she's tired... my sister is just so appalled at it all and embarrassed. My son, honestly, didn't seem to care less by the whole situation.
Left and daughter still crying and tired.... ugh.. we have tickets for MVMCP! Put my sister and her hubby on a bus to DHS - happily ditched them - and we went to MK. Within minutes daughter perked up.... and if I ask the kids now what was your BEST night EVER in Disney - that's the night they'll say. Most MAGICAL night ever we had at MVMCP that night, and have done it many times since.
