I don't know why all this bad karma is hitting me and my kiddos all at once!
I'm a good person. I let others out before me in traffic. When someone cuts me off, I don't flip them the bird. I even let someone with just a few items before me in line at the grocery store. LOL
I vented a about a person from craigs list stealing the kitchen set my kids were selling to earn some spending money for their trip in October.
I am on bed rest, and can't do much. The weather has been beautiful this week and I've been forced to sit and watch and not be able to play with my 3 year old outside.
No one else in my family feels the need to clean up after themselves, so I do what I can to clean in short bursts between being solitary and chasing after my very active child.
Last weekend I took my two oldest out to a paint your own pottery place with some of the other moms/ladies and kiddos from my hubby's battalion. We had a good time, but the pieces were expensive! Ah, the cost of fun, right?
Ugh. I am SO glad that today is friday. I have HAD it with this week!!!
We finished, paid, were given our pick up slip and told to pick them up Friday after 5. The girls not so patiently waited all week to pick these up, and talked about how they couldn't wait to see how their paint looked once they were fired. I told them last night that we would go after school (at 5) to go pick them up today. I had to go out anyway to buy snacks for DD's soccer game tomorrow anyway so I'd make the drive. Its a 20 minute out of the way drive over there.
We get there, give them our slip. They check, and all three of the pieces are still in the kiln! So once again this week, I have two very disappointed kids. They said it would be ready after 5 on Friday. They've had a week to fire it, and they're just doing it now?!? I'm not ...impressed, and they've lost a customer. My dad makes pottery, I'm familiar with the process, and I know it doesn't take a week to glaze and fire. I told the lady that it was friday and 5:00 and we were there to pick up our pieces. The kicker? The lady told me it wasn't 5 yet, it was 2 minutes till, right after she just finished telling me that they weren't going to be ready for a long while.
When you tell a customer that their product will be ready to pick up at a certain time and date, you need to have it ready or contact the customer. So now I need to come up with something really fantastic for the kids because they've had a rough week, and none of it has been their fault. Thank goodness next week is spring break, and we can go to the park or have a friend over or something. I'm on bed rest, and I have no idea when I can drive back over there. It may be another week. I try NOT to go out, and if I have to, I combine everything that I can into one trip. Call it pregnancy hormones, but I'm just thoroughly annoyed with this week!
I wasn't mean or anything to the people that worked there, just took my slip back, told the kids that I was sorry, but we had to go and I didn't know when we would be able to pick the pottery up.
Has anyone else just had a sucky week, too? Feel free to vent.
