Question:

I'm pretty sure I heard this policy has changed but if you start your night in one room rate season and the rest fall on another, will they still honor the rate from the first night onto all the rest?

this is correct IF it is a pay by day thing (which seems to be new) I came apon this yesterday when a weeks difference was more $$ I questioned it. CM said that there is now a day to day of the AP rate, but if not day to day, it would apply

It changed as of Jan 1. Every night now has a cost associated with it, and you pay those costs regardless of when you checked in. This affects trips over two "seasons" but also may result in different pricing if you stay over a weekend, etc. If you price a hotel on the disney web site, you will see a price next to each day of the trip on the hotel portion, so you'll easily be able to see if it changes over the course of a trip.
