My family and I are at All Star Movies, 1st floor room, backside of Toy Story. Been here since Monday. Room location is amazing. Nice, quiet, close to everything and easy access with our sons stroller. However yesterday morning I noticed a bug infestation over near the sink and toilet area of the room. They were small like ants, but not really ants. Hard to describe. They were easy to squish.
First time we noticed, there was only a few and I squished them. However short time later as we were heading out to park, there had to be about 20 or so of them. I went down to desk and they apologized and said they would have pest control come out while we were gone. Problem seemed to be solved. Yet this morning I wake up, and same problem all over again. Is this normal on the first floor rooms? It’s the first time we ever gotten first floor.

I don't think it's a 1st floor issue. We had the same thing at Beach Club and Port Orleans's French Quarter and neither were 1st floor. Took 2 times for each room for pest control to get them to stop showing up.

Might be ghost ants, they are small and looking for food, etc. They are hard to get rid of and our pest control will use a bait gel. It takes a few days to work.

That sounds about right. If I remember correctly, they really like moisture.

I've had those annoying little things in my home! :faint:  I called my pest control guy and he had to put down a gel just like a PP said. I was lucky to see it worked within 24 hours.

I had them at Copper Creek part of Wilderness Lodge.

Thanks for the responses! I talked to front desk and they moved me up to the 2nd floor this morning plus gave me some free fast passes for the hassle. They are having pest control go look at the previous room.

We had tiny ants in our 5th floor room at YC in February. The pest control man called them Argentinian ants. He applied the gel & said they would be gone in 24 hours. They did move us a few rooms down, refunded 1 night’s cost & offered us fastpasses for the inconvenience (it was 11 pm when we found them & after midnight when we finished moving). We didn’t need the fastpasses but were thankful we were compensated the night’s stay.

We had them in our YC room (5195) last weekend. I thought it was just because DH kept bringing cookies back to the room from the lounge. Wish I’d thought of mentioning it.

This was a whole army of them, lol. Coming right in from the balcony door, along the baseboard, around a plug & up in the bed stand. I went right to the front desk coz it was 11 pm when I saw them. They had the pest control come right away along with the housekeeping supervisor. The front desk arranged the rom for us to move to & the housekeeping supervisor was the one who authorized the night’s compensation. He was very nice. I met him in the lobby & on the way to the room I did mention we know this isn’t typical because we have stayed at YC multiple times a year for over 15 years. So that might be why he offered the compensation.

But there really were a lot! of ants. No way was I staying in that room. BTW, that was room 5239.
