On Friday I decided to change our trip from August to Thanksgiving. This way we'll get to do MVMCP, CP, Osbourne Lights and all of the other Christmas stuff. I called Friday to book All Star Sports for Nov. 27-Dec.2. I was told that only music was available. I called back Saturday and was told the same thing so I booked music.

Well, I just called back to see if anything has opened up at Sports. The CM told me that she didn't have anything for 11/27-12/2, but did have 11/26-12/2:confused: How could this be??

I booked the room for 11/26-12/2 then called backed and had the first night taken off of the reservation.

Never had that happen but I'm not surprised it did. The way they block off rooms is a mystery!!

I just wanted to say.... sounds like you handled it the right way!

Way to work around the system!:p :p :p :p

We had the same thing happen to us at ASMO! We wanted 5 nights that werent available. Then we asked for a quote for 6 nights(5 of the same as the previous request), and suddenly it was available. We had every intention of keeping the 6 nights, until a good rate came out for the Poly and we switched the last night to there. So in the long run, we got the original 5 days that werent available.

That is a little strange. Who knows???

I haven't been able to figure it out either... When we were booking for xmas time, we found that by booking one day earlier (same # of days) we received the value season rate instead of the peak season.. even though the only day in value season is the first day we will arrive. We saved $600 dollars in hotel room alone just by moving our vacation ahead one day. It's amazing! I was shocked that they didn't adjust the rate from the 2nd day on.. a lot of hotels will changes rates during your stay when you cross a weekend/busy time. It was a happy surprise (so we are going to cirque de soleil) :)

Your experience seems to be the norm to me. I have had similiar experiences almost every trip I book. It's like a game, but if you are persistent and willing to put in the effort you can be a winner everytime!! I have always been able to get the resort I want (even when initially being told it's booked) just by calling numerous times a day. It's amazing how things can change from one CM to the other at CRO. The key is to keep calling back until you get a CM who is willing to go out of their way to help you.

I've had teh same experience when booking. Always figured that's why WDW CRO didn't usualy give out an 800 numberas a matter of practice.
