has there ever been a child abduction from the parks?

:thumbsup2No kids ever stolen from Disney. :cool1:
Perhaps moms will stop taking their older sons into the ladies room! :stir:

Each location has a missing child code so to speak. CODE ADAM is a popular one and you will see a sticker in the front of many locations.

I was standing at the Seven Dwarfs mining adventure on July 4th , 2014 at 11:00pm, and two disney employees radios were going off, and the message stated" Amber alert for a ten year old puerto rican descent male, with tan shorts and a bright yellow polo shirt, anybody with information, CODE 03...his parents are waiting in guest services"

I was in complete and utter shock, not to mention sadness and dismay for this kid and his family, BTW, we were in the back of the main street watching the fire works, because the park was over capacity.

Anyways, I continued on to Mickey's Philharmonic, and I asked the women attending there, and she said she didn't have radio contact, so she didn't know anything about it, and I have searched all over the internet since I got home, I even checked wt the Amber alert board pages, and I couldn't find anything, so hopefully, they found him and got him back to his parents.

WDW Security use radio w/ ear pieces NEVER radio transmissions w/ blaring audio for other people Not buying it sorry even custodial CMs use the ear pieces

:rolleyes2

First off, I believe, not positive but thought I read somewhere that most Amber Alerts must involve a vehicle.

Second, I don't know about y'all but I have a Verizon Samsung phone - about a year and a half ago, emergency alerts started blaring out of my phone, this includes all Amber Alerts. Perhaps its some setting I have been there have been several incidences at work where all of our phones "went off" at the same time - severe weather and Amber Alerts

Disney security story:
Several years back DH & I were staying in WWL. We decided to walk the wooded path to FW. Got about 10 minutes in and along comes a Disney security guard in a small golf cart type thing. He jokingly asks me if I "know this guy" etc. We pass the time of day for a couple of minutes and then off he goes. I thought nothing of it til DH says "you know somehow they saw us going into these woods and sent someone to make sure you were ok and I wasn't some crazy rapist abductor. He was watching your reaction very closely".

Why would someone pay $100 to get into the park to kidnap a child, when they could do it for free at the local playground?

It just wouldn't make sense logically, if someone is going to abduct a child why pick a place that is very crowded and with a complicated exit.

It is easy to lose track of the kids but Disney has many procedures in place to make sure they are located very quickly.

Not to mention that Disneyland (and World) can see your every move. My friend's DH use to work at Disneyland and he said there are cameras EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!

And my understanding is that there are also numerous plain clothes security people as well.

A little bit indelicately put, perhaps, but spot on! LOTS of other more opportune places for a deviant to hunt a kid than Disney.
