I was looking up dates/packages on Disney website and FTP is now a choice. I was even able to enter December dates. Is this new?

I checked the site today, too, and noticed it. Although it doesn't seem to be the great deal they offered over the summer.

I just checked on WL standard view for 7 days. Me, DH, 2 kids (one under 3) and it was $2686.82!!!!! We will be driving and do not need anything but room and tickets. I don't think so!

Sounds good doesn't it?
Well it really isn't a savings with this new FTP.
To book the package that we have already paid $2400 for (the original FTP)it would cost $3000 with this new package.
Plus the Dream Maker package is exactly $0.01 less than the new FTP and as the descriptions state- you get more with the Dream Maker.
I think Disney is taking advantage of the popularity of the old FTP and just put together this new one.. great marketing actually! Not so great a deal though.

Perhaps the discounted rates will appear Tuesday as the releases state. Personally, I would check the rates today at several resorts and then check them again tom'w.

I can't find it at all on the Disney site. Do you have the link??

If it costs more, it does sound like Disney is just capitalizing on the "name" without offering the same discount that was associated with it. Perhaps this will change tommorrow?

good point familyoffive - that's what I'm going to do, too. Disney is obviously going to offer something better tomorrow.

This option has been on the site for a while. I noticed at least back in July, but new it wasn't really a discount. Not sure why it is an option.

I noticed this last month that you could enter December. I have also read on another website a couple of weeks ago that WDW was sticking with the same name as FTP but it not being a good deal at all. I wouldn't get too excited about it changing tomorrow becaus it's been like that for at least 4 weeks that I know of.

Package available most nights 11/10/03 - 2/11/04 (but not valid at all 11/25/03 - 11/27/03 and 12/27/03 - 1/1/04). The number of packages available at this rate is limited. Advance reservations required. No group rates or other discounts apply

I WOULD get excited b/c I've read reports from travel agents w/ inside info on another couple of boards re. a new package...Winter Dream or something like that.:D

I was hoping to be excited, but there just doesn't seem to be much to be that excited about. The deal is no deal to me. Mickey
