*violent shiver*

Just wondering if anyone has heard whether the dang escaped cobra from the Bronx zoo has been found yet.

:scared1:

I haven't heard of this. I just posted in another thread how I don't mind snakes and I think they're kinda cute. But ugh, that doesn't mean I'd want to find one in my house or storage shed or anything. Eek!

what??? hadn't heard about this.. how far can they /do they travel??

Is the zoo still open?

I am watching the morning news and no, they have not found it yet. They said they do think it is in the reptile building

I read it was a juvenile male only about 20 inches long. Not that that makes me feel any better. :scared1:

They are pretty sure he's still in the reptile house. They've closed it and are waiting till he gets hungry or thirsty and comes out.

I also don't think snakes like the cold, so chances are he's not venturing outside!

DH told me about this this morning. I told him hopefully the stupid thing doesn't go over to the mongoose exhibit, otherwise it could get real ugly.

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi was one of my favorite tv short shows. Every year, we had to watch it when it came on.

I think it's too cold for him to try and get out of the reptile house. We've been there and they have one gecko type lizard that's always out of his cage, they say he just won't stay in, so he ends up hanging out on the top of his cage off and on.

I'm thinking that's a problem when the poisonous snakes start doing it.;)

I hope they catch him without incident.

Just adding: This is one of the strangest sentences I've ever read while drinking my morning coffee. I had to look at it three times to make sure I'd read it correctly, lol.

The news here in NY stated as of noon he had ot been found, but they will update us later on with what efforts are being made to find him.

We did get to also see how a racoon got stuck on top of a telephone pole with a peanut butter jar stuck on his head.

They showed a picture of another snake that is similar to the lost one.

I'm at my office here in Orlando, FL.

I just picked my feet up off the floor after I read this post. :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

I saw this on the news last night and told my husband that I am very glad that it is way too cold for that snake to get from New York to New Hampshire!

Can't they get someone who can speak parselmouth to the cobra? :confused3

Too cold for a snake? It was clear up to 13 degrees this morning in north western PA. Dang warm out for spring....
