We stayed at the Caribbean Beach three years ago, and loved it. We are going back this summer, and had planned to stay there. However, I keep reading negative comments. Will we be disappointed this time??

We staye at Trinidad South in Sept of 2001 for our honeymoon. we were there for 13 days(and during 9/11 :( )

It was fine.....for the price I probably wouldn't stay there again.

Dh and I like the value resorts just fine because that means we can go more often!

Nothing stood out in my mind that was awful....it was fine, nothing spetacular, but just fine.

Actually from what I have been reading......
It is quite the contrary.:D
We were there last in Oct '99 and the rooms were looking horribly run down. I swore I would not return until they refurbished.
Well, last year they refurbished all the rooms and we are going back in June.
We can't wait!!! :D We love the theming and lay-out of the whole resort.
I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the improvements.

We were there in Feb. and really liked it! :) The renovations make it seem brand new. It's definitely my favorite moderate. ;)

We loved CBR in November! The resort has been refurbished and is really in great shape. We stayed in Martinique right next to the quiet pool. We would like to try other moderate resorts, but we enjoyed CBR so much that it would be hard to try some place else. :)

We stayed there in November for our first time and probably won't stay there again. However, I don't think it's "gotten bad." The stuff we didn't like had to do with layout and stuff like that. If you liked it before, there wouldn't be anything that I noticed that would make you not like it now. Does that make sense?

Actually its gotten BETTER !!!!

a couple years ago the boards only had negative things to say. But now after the room remodel its on top of the list again.

I would stay there again in a minute. ;)

Caribbean Beach Resort is beautiful and if anything, it has gotten better and better reviews in the past year. I stayed at CBR and the Grand Floridian last May and I stayed at CBR just this past February. The rooms have all been completely refurbished so are like brand new. The grounds are beautiful. Take a look at my web sites, I have many pictures and info about CBR :)

Caribbean Beach is my FAVORITE Resort. I think the place is beautiful. I love the pool area as well as the different colors for the buildings. It is very colorful and makes me feel like I am in the Caribbean for real.

I just stayed there over spring break and it was beautiful!!! Our room in Martinique bldg 23 had been refurbished with new carpet, bed spreads, curtains..and many other things. I would go back to stay there in a heartbeat!!! The whole resort is so gorgeous, it's hard to believe you are not in the carribean...LOL
Go and have fun!!!

We stayed at CBR in 1996 for our honeymoon and again last year. The only difference was the rooms were refurbished and much nicer. But the negative was that they don't offer minibar in room anymore and now they charge for the coffee in the rooms that comes with the inroom coffee maker.

So, as you can see, those are things you can live with. CBR is my favorite so far! We have a goal of staying at every Disney resort eventually.

I'm glad to hear all of you say good things about CBR... we have reservations there for November and we are really looking forward to it:D

My sister, her DH and their DD just got back on Thursday from the CBR and they loved it! They stayed in Aruba, said the rooms were very nice and they did not have a long wait for the buses, and enjoyed the food court.

We were there this past December and stayed in Barbados - the rooms were all refurbished and the grounds nicely kept. No complaints at all except staying at AKL has spoilt me and will now not stay anywhere else!!!

We stayed at the CBR last May and it was beautiful! They just completed a major overhaul of all of the guest rooms fall of last year. They now have new beds, furniture, fixtures, paint, wallpaper, carpet, bedspreads, tubs and curtains. Also, they just finished this month with the renovation of Old Port Royale. It may be the oldest of the moderates, but at this point is looks like one of the newest.

As for convenience, request a building in Martinique (25 or 26), Trinidad North( 31-smoking or 32), Aruba (51-smoking or 52) or Jamaica (44 or 45).

The grounds were well maintained, the CM's were very nice and we wished we had been there longer to enjoy the boats and the pools.

Have a great time. It is likely that the naysayers haven't stayed there since it has be refurbished.

Our room was beautiful, fully refurbished.

The only draw back was from the balcony outside our room you could see the Pop Century construction..LOL.

I'm happy to read all the good comments, we're going in November (me and my dh, my sister and her dh). We're looking forward to it! And it's Food and Wine time too!!! I requested Martinique.:Pinkbounc

I've stayed at CBR a number of times over the years and I love it. We were just there in April and it was great esp. as the rooms had just been renovated. I don't drink coffee so the fact that you have to pay for the room coffee doesn't bother me. A solution is to bring your own coffee for their coffee maker. We bring our own car fridge with us so again the loss of the minibar doesn't affect us. The layout is great and very relaxing. We prefer to stay in Jamaica so that we can walk across the bridge to OPR. Although I've stayed at other Disney resorts over the years I still love CBR the best. Didn't take much to convince DH to go back again -- he'd never stayed there (or anywhere else on site before) so we have it booked for October 2003. A long time to wait but we are doing a cruise too so have to save up the $.

I just stayed there in March and everything in my room was brand new! I was in Martinique bldg 23. The resort is beautiful and I felt like a queen staying there. If I could afford it, I would stay there all the time...it's sooooooo relaxing! :)
