Has the 180 + 10 rule changed?

Today was our 180 day mark and DH called just a while ago. We had 4 to make but the CM told DH she could only do 180 days. He asked "Can't you do up to 10 days?" and she said nope, just 180. He said she sounded very knowledgable about everything else (knew what she was doing booking Ca Grill with cc info and all), so he didnt push it further.

So has the rule changed and I missed it or should we call back?

To top it off we could only get a bad time for the meal we wanted, so this was not a very successful ADR day for us. :(

I don't know of any changes. I'd call back and try my luck with a different CM.

I think theres only like 2 restaurants on property that dont do the 180+10 and neither are ones anyone would be going to anyway. Call back and talk to someone else.

LOL! We did try back and the new CM was willing to make them for us. So we tried Yak & Yeti...that couldnt be booked more than 180 days. Then we tried Shulas...nope thats a 180 day restaurant too. Lastly, we tried Fresh and guess what??? Thats only at 180 days. :faint:

Counter Service is looking better and better. ;)

I'm sorry to hear that. I would call back because I think the CM either didn't understand what you were trying to do or just isn't knowledgeable when it comes to that 180 day plus 10 rule.

There are very very few restaurants that don't let you do the plus 10 thing, and you can only reserve these exactly 180 days out.

Wolfgang Puck Cafe is one of them since I had to do that today and they wouldn't let me book it Monday with the rest of my ADR's. I don't know which others.

Those are not Disney-owned restaurants and they don't participate in the +10. A number of the places that are not owned by Disney can be booked only at 180 days.

TDC Nala is right. I had to wait for the 180-day mark for both Yak & Yeti and Raglan Road.

I just wanted to let you know that they still do it. I just got off the phone with them and they did it for me. So, the person may have been misinformed or didn't want to be bothered. :confused3

It wasn't the CM, it was the fact that CamColt was trying to book restaurants that can't be booked +10.

Some of the restaurants that are not owned by Disney can't be booked at more than 180 days.

Here's a question....we were arriving on 12/6 and heading right to port for the cruise on the 7th. Then, cruising for 4 nights, heading to WDW on the 11th to the 16th. But, just changed our minds..now we're heading directly to WDW on the 6th, staying at OKW. So....can we make ADRs 10 days out from the 6th right through to the 16th? Or will they say no because we have a break of 4 days in the middle??

Actually, just to clarify, it was the CM who gave us misinformation. DH hadnt mentioned what restaurants he was trying for when he was told they could only be booked 180 days. I thought Shulas couldnt be and we werent even sure if we wanted Fresh, but I had thought Y&Y could be booked +10, so that was the main one we wanted on that oringal call. I was wrong on that one, but like I said, DH wasnt even given the chance to ask for it since she told him she couldnt go past 180 days. She told us no, without knowing the restaurant.

Then to boot, we got more misinformation today! We tried booking CA Grill for a differnet night since we werent happy with what we had gotten. It was available for the day and time we wanted, but the CM woudlnt book it without our hotel confirmation number (we werent home at the time). They said it would cancel out without that. We flew home go the number called again and were never asked for the confirmation #. We tried to offer it and they said no need. ROFL! Gotta love CMs!

Goofy4tink, my guess would be, it depends which CM you talk to. :headache:

They dont care what you do in the middle. You could make one reservation for the 16th and thats it if you wanted.

And it gets worse! Day 3 of booking = day 3 of misinformation!

Today I tried for Il Mulino which is 180 days out and got that, no problem for 180 days from now.

Then I tried for Captains Galley for which would be 181 days away. I was told staying at the Dolphin does not allow you to book the +10 days. I said yes it does and I was allowed to do it yesterday and in the past for other trips but nope, its suddenly not allowed according to this CM.

I don't usually like to say anythng bad about Disney, but this is getting ridiculous! These people have to learn how to do their jobs.

You mean the Captains Grille?

I just called back now...lo and behold I WAS able to book it 181 days out. It wasnt easy, but I got all 4 meals booked and it only took 5 calls over 3 days. Thank God I'm done! :faint:
