I have terrible memory and too lazy to look it up
Has PIF always been 90 days?

I'm very tempted to book the EBTA in May from PC, it's such a good price right now, but I'm conflicted about forking out ~ $10k in one go... if it was 30 days or even 60 days out I'd go for it.
But PIF now for a May sailing?
Wasn't it like 60 days out before?

I feel like DCL would get tons more bookings and sell out quicker if they were more flexible with their PIF dates, no?

I should know this and should be on here more often.. sorry.

PIF Date depends on the length of sailing- for cruises of 6+ nights PIF date 120 days, 5 Nights or less 90 days

Are you looking at Restricted fares? Those normally are offered at a discount but are non refundable and must be paid at time of booking.

We are within 90 days of the EBTA. So it would have to be PIF at the time of booking, whether it's a restricted fare or not.

I just had a search of my email and I found a really old confirmation from 2013. It looks like it has changed so more cruises you have to pay at the 120 day mark (but EBTA still would have been 120 days out.)

PIF was only that short during Covid. It's been either 90 days or 120 days since we started sailing in 2011. I do think more cruises are 120 days now than back then, but it's still been that way for years.

you're right it was during covid.. it just never crossed my mind it was as long as 120 days... didn't really think it was 30 days, but don't remember it being 120 either.. I guess I never paid a lot of attention to that... still feel like DCL should be more flexible.. especially on longer cruises.. like, taking a TA= a long term commitment, meaning you need to arrange for a lot of things relating to work, school, your house, pets etc... planning to get away for 15+ days is way more complicated than for a 3-7 day sailing.
I'm just venting sorry... out of frustration of not knowing if I should pull the trigger or not...

It's been 90 days since we started sailing in 2000. They introduced 120 days for longer/European cruises when they started doing those.
