Has Eisner truly lost his mind?

It's not realistically going to make any political headway with the public, but it may get picked up as a soundbite or two in the junket. This concerns me the most. The company simply cannot afford any negative publicity especially that which cries anti-patriotism and alludes to a discriminatory portrayal of certain American soldiers.

Sure there's plenty of room for all types of banter which makes for quite an entertaining arena and I agree there should always be equitable play for all sides. What I don't see is the motive behind greenlighting the release of this project when clearly it is not going to prove rewarding in any form. Hence my reasoning as to questionable tactics indeed..........

"Which is exactly why Disney wasn't gobbled during the dot.com frenzy..."

You meant when Eisnen spent 18 months trying to sell Disney to Yahoo! right after the AOL TimeWarner deal?

Perhaps it wasn't Disney's ability to produce bad movies that saved the company - it's that Eisner is just as inept at Big Time Business Dealing as he is at everything else.

As I recall there were merger talks followed by the dot.com decline. That is when Eisner tried to buy Yahoo...Isn't that the proper order???

"While elitist liberals on the coasts seem not to be offended by such things, the great majority of Americans take great u"

I noticed that it will be a limited release, so it will probably only be in a few art houses on the coasts anyway like most independent films.

I noticed today that the movie will be released to SIX theaters. So middle America probably doesn't have to worry too much about it showing at the local multiplex.

But first, did any of y'all go see "City of God," or "Jet Lag," or "Blue Car," or "The Quiet American?"

For that matter, does anyone know what these four movies have in common?

These are all films currently in release by miramax, that are currently playing in 8-25 or so theaters, that no one has ever heard of, much like Buffalo Soldiers.
