I wouldn't think that members would want to pay for new premium coffee machines and coffee in all of the DVC resorts.
Bill
I don't drink Coffee; however, I do know that these machines are fairly inexpensive (around $50 or less), especially when bought in bulk, so I don't see that being too much of an issue.

At $50 per room, it would be nearly $40,000 just to replace the coffee makers at OKW. If they are going to spend that money, I'd rather they hire more/better housekeeping staff.
In about half the resorts that I've stayed in that did use Keurig machines, I had to call to get the machine replaced...it would not work. The coffee cups are expensive, plus I like having the coffee brewed, so I can just pour a second (or third) cup without waiting for it to brew again.
Yes and you can also get Hot Chocolate and herbal tea cups, as well as make your own.I imagine that DVC could swing a pretty good deal with Keurig below cost sheer volume and pool of potential customers who would try it and like it (or not). I'm a big fan, first time I tried it was @ Loews property and I promptly bought myself one. FYI, they do sell 'green' refillable pods
Others have given you the math simply to replace all the machines. Getting one for $50 is not easy, even for the single cup smaller ones about the best I've seen is $69 and I've only seen that once with a sale combined with a coupon. I realize with their buying power they could get them for less but still likely around the $50. For the machines they have, I'd guess the direct cost of those is less than $10 each. There probably isn't much difference in the cost of 2-3 of these single use compared to what coffee packets they're using now but they wouldn't be able to supply more than around that. Other than concierge type options, I doubt we'll ever see them routinely unless the economics change dramatically.I don't drink Coffee; however, I do know that these machines are fairly inexpensive (around $50 or less), especially when bought in bulk, so I don't see that being too much of an issue.
Nope, those machines might be nice if you only drink a cup a day.
I drink 8-12 cups of coffee a day.
Way too expensive!
Hope they don't cave to this.
<snip>It is actually quite possible that Disney could negotiate free machines in exchange for selling them at the resorts.<snip>

I considered that but I still don't see it happening. As for getting them free, generally it's a program offered by the manufacturer and not isolated on one company no matter how powerful Disney might be otherwise. I think you will see the economics of these machines change over time and it might then be a reasonable options, but not as things stand now. IMO.I think we're missing THE most important factor here and it hasn't even been mentioned.
One must factor in the profit of selling K-Cups at the resort shops too. I'm betting they wouldn't be $11-12/box like Target and BB&B, either.
They'll sell primarily those "sample" sleeves with 3-4 cups in them in a wide variety of blends and they'll sell them for $5-7. Watch my words.
With a mostly captive audience, it's a virtual gold mine for Disney.

I haven't seen the Keurig that low but have seen like the Mr. Coffee I think it is.I routinely see these on sale at Target for around $50 and ocassionally as low as $35 around here.
