Has DME improved check in?

I did DME 2 years ago and as I recal it took us quite some time to get through the check in lines, bus lines and then finally on our way. I thought I read that they have improved this process somewhat recently. Is this true? If you arrive mid morning on a Saturday, how much time should I budget from landing to resort (poly)?

We've used DME 5 times and never had any issues. Of course the wait to get to the DME desk will vary depending on the time of day - but we've always been on our way within 20-30 minutes of landing

If you have your packet with your vouchers in it you no longer stop at the desk - have your vouchers out and ready and when you approach the ME area there will be a CM at the very end of the line (where you would get in line for the ME DESK and she will look at your vouchers and send you on to a podium bypassing the ME desk.

Seriously though your wait may be shorter or longer than what you have experienced before. The last time I flew (in Jan) our wait for a bus was longer than ever (we arrived midday). Typically I arrive late night.

So I would plan on the typical 1-1 1/2 hours to get to the resort.

Ahhh! So there has at least been an effort made to improve the effeciency! Last time I waited 25 minutes in the line while my poor dh stuggled with the children and the youngest kept screaming for me (she can't stand it if we separate!). That made the whole experience a nightmare, and truthfully probably much worse in my head than it actually was!

Of course, my not quite 2 year old will be 4.5 when we go, so even if we had to wait it should not be the disaster that it was last time! LOL! I totally feel better now thanks to your reply - no because of the change in procedure, but now I remember exactly why the DME left a bad taste in my mouth - and it really had nothing to do with DME and everything to do with a clingy 21 month old! Feeling much better now!

I really like the new system where if you have your booklet you just go through to the greeter to your bus line instead of going to the counter then back to the greeter then to the bus line. It seemed silly when we would arrive early morning with nobody around and have to do the double check in

We only had to wait tops 30 minutes from check in time at counter until we were on the bus

This does help quite a bit. We were fortunate the last time we used it that we had our booklet already with all our flight info. It was very quick to get through and onto the bus. The time before we had an issue and had to wait quite some time to get through the line.

Just make sure your flight info (both directions) is in order on your DME packet. This will save you time.
