On the theme park dis board there have been lots of messages on whats not good about Disney like the new rides, cleaning standards and the staff, has it really got that bad??

I havent been since 2001 and after reading all the messages Im not sure its gonna be as good as I remember!

If you have been recently can you please restore my faith in Disney and say something wonderful about it!!

We have been most years since 1995 and I didnt notice anything wildy different when we went in December.

There were always good and bad CMs at Disney, most of them being good, if not brilliant. I encountered the usual mix at Christmas.

Never noticed a problem with cleaning (try DLP - now they DO have a problem!!).

Not much in the way of new rides recently, but there are some headliners opening this year and next (Soarin', Motors Stunt Show, Expedition Everest, a new water ride at Typhoon Lagoon to name a few). Also, a lot of stuff has been in rehab, which will give some of the older rides a lift.

A lot of the US DISers visit a lot of times in one year (for long weekends etc) and I think any small problems are highlighted more by these short breaks. Memories are very fresh from last visits, hence even a small thing that isnt as good as before seems a bigger problem than it probably is.

There was a lot of bad press about the new Stitch ride at MK (replacing the old Alien Encounter), but not every ride is going to appeal to every person. Lots of people loved it, lots hated it.

My advice is to go with no preconceptions. Enjoy YOUR trip and your experiences. Dont not do a ride or attraction because you read somwhere it was no good. Experience everything the World has to offer and I pretty much guarantee you will come away loving a lot more than you hated!

Have a fantastic trip!

Remember that any trip is what you make of it. Take everything you read with a grain of salt and have a great trip! :wizard:

Wow, all I can say is I've visited from 1993 to 2004 and it was as perfect in 2004 as it was eleven years before.

Don't worry. I think some people like to try and "knock" stuff.

We've been 5 times since March 03 and have not noticed any difference - I really don't think it's going downhill at all. Every place is going to have an off day sometimes isn't it? The only time we noticed some cleaning needed doing was on Christmas Day, all the bins we passed at MK were full but who'd expect all the cleaning staff to work that day? Everyone has different opinions - hubby and I love Pop Century while others hate it and compare it to grotty motels! You'll have a brilliant time, don't worry :)

I think that the more you go, the more apt you are to notice the little things. Personally, there are some things that could be improved or have lost that magical touch of disney, but for the most part it's still WDW and I will love going there no matter .

I couldn't agree more. I went to DLP for the first time at New Years this year and was shocked by the amount of litter, especially cigarette butts on the floor. The area around the Phantom Manor queue I remember being particularly bad, even the CM was leaning against a wall smoking :sad2: . It was just sad as after visiting MK in Florida a few moonths previously you could see how much nicer the place could have looked with just some more effort put into keeping it clean. I remember struggling to find bins too so you can see why so many people had just dropped stuff (not that I condone their behavior mind you.)

As for Florida, it looked lovely and clean when I was there. All the CMs I met were friendly and the rides were great. However it was my first visit so I couldn't say if it's gone downhill.

We've also been every year for the past 4 years and always thought it was wonderful - certainly didn't notice any drop in standards - enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sunny:

Ive been 8 times in the last decade, and I cant say Ive noticed any decline in standards. The last time i went was about 2 weeks after the hurricanes, and i was expecting it to have been a little rough around the edges, but not so atall.
