This is an interesting article I found this morning and I have to agree:

https://thestreamable.com/has-disney-plus-given-up-upcoming-slate

Most of the offerings on D+ do not appeal to me so there's no reason to keep it, nor really any reason to resubscribe in the future. I understand the writers strike put a huge dent into when new stuff will be filmed and released, but overall unless you are a huge Star Wars or Marvel fan there's really not much there and the upcoming slate of shows look...meh at best.

I've loved it, personally.

I've watched and am watching all the Star Wars series, my son and I have watched all the Star Wars movies, we've enjoyed lots of the Marvel stuff, Hamilton etc.

Soon Inside Out 2 will be on, and I have heard that Frozen the broadway show will be on. I'm sure they will eventually have the Lion King and Aladdin broadway shows as well.

There's more that I can't think of right now, but yeah, I've gotten my money's worth out of it.

For me, Disney+ was never about the originals, but in having the *entire* back catalog at my fignertips. I can and will pay for that! That said, they are still missing some things that should be on there. I get more excited when they announce a long-awaited catalog title than I do about any new stuff. Now, let's see Wather in the Woods, The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh, and Buizz Lightyear of Star Comand please!

Out of all of the streaming services out there, Disney+ seemed like the worst value for me personally. I have absolutely 0 interest in Marvel and Star Wars so those original shows are not something I would pay for. I would rather physically own the Disney movies I want to watch on Blu-ray.

If we didn't have some sort of bundle deal w Hulu, that DH got with our phone plan, I'd probably be ok dropping Disney + for a few months, since there wont' be any new SW for a while, or Marvel until Daredevil. Could probably let it go about 6 months or so.
BUT, I LOVE, love having all the SW and Marvel content easily at hand. So easy to have quick/easy access to whatever Clone Wars episode I want, or just a few scenes in this movie, or whatever.
Like DS just watched the older Daredevil series. I knew he'd been in an episode of She Hulk, and I wanted to refresh, voila, easy to get to.
But I haven't been impressed with most of the latest non SW live action series, like Willow. and we dont' find ourselves watching the old animated stuff, although I did just recently finally get to Encanto.
DD did like the Percy Jackson series.

We had Disney+ when it debuted for the really great deal for 3 years and then renewed for 1 or 2 years with a so-so deal, but still better than regular. Then we canceled it and I signed up a month later with commercials, via Hulu for $2/month. $0.99/month for Hulu and $2.00/month for Disney+.

I never got rid of the VHS, DVDs or Blu-Rays that we accumulated of Disney movies, although obviously, no VCR anymore, so I probably should get rid of the VHS. So, I don't usually watch those movies on Disney+. I do watch the newer ones that I don't see in the movie theatres to see if I want to add it to my collection of Blu-ray or what. So far, I haven't wanted to. That will likely change with Inside Out 2 and Zootopia 2, but we will see.

I've watched the live action Star Wars (Rogue One is good), couldn't get into Ahsoka much (she was fine in The Mandalorian but on her own, not so much). I still haven't watched Acolyte, so I may binge that.

I did watch the Netflix Daredevil series (wow!) and have been rewatching Agent Carter, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and a few other Marvel shows, so, all in all, it's been worth it.

I will likely cancel when the subscription deal is over in November and then have someone else here sign up for the Black Friday deal and we will use their account, lol

To me I think Disney+ hasn't given up because they are constantly trying to add new and interesting shows and movies to keep their juices flowing and they constantly do this to keep people's attention flowing. Take for instance when The Mandalorian debuted Disney+ subscribership jumped sky-high and when Season 2 of The Mandalorian debuted the same thing happened and when the Marvel series of shows like Wandavision and Loki debuted on Disney+ saw extremely popular subscribership during that time and when Hawkeye debuted in November 2021 Hawkeye became Disney+'s most watched Marvel holiday show of that year but when they debuted Ms. Marvel it was the weakest Marvel show and they thought when She-Hulk Attorney At Law debuted it would be a hit and almost the same thing that happened to Ms. Marvel happened to She-Hulk Attorney At Law and in the Star Wars side Disney+ had plans for another season of The Book Of Boba Fett but chances are we'll never hear more about it and the same thing with Obi-Wan-Kenobi and the only Star Wars shows you hear about are Andor and Ahsoka and not even Tales Of The Acolyte hasn't been renewed for a second season and probably never will. But when Disney+ started going downhill was when they got rid of shows like Willow The Series Stargirl The World According To Jeff Goldblum and The Mysterious Benedict Society and starting shows like Rennervation with Jeremy Renner and The Muppets shows. I also can't figure out why they even made The Santa Clauses series Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special and Dashing Through The Snow and Home Sweet Home Alone when the movie Noelle with Anna Kendrick was a hit holiday film for Disney+? But now with Percy Jackson And The Olympians and the upcoming Agatha All Along series Disney+ will improve itself once more

Same. I feel like investing so much money in original streaming content has been a detriment to Disney as a whole, when big appeal of Disney+ - for me, at least - was having all the content available on any device. We have a four year old, so that has been incredible for us. We have some Disney movies on Blu Ray, but not a lot, and Disney + allows our kid to watch a lot of older movies that he would never have seen otherwise. Also, it has all of the Disney Junior content as well, so he can watch stuff on an iPad while traveling.

I love it. DD16 and I have been rewatching all of the Marvel MCU in 4K and Imax Enhanced when offered. If we tried to do that separately, we'd be looking at $5-$6 per movie in probably inferior quality. The original content is nice but the deep catalog is what I wanted. We also love all the old cartoon shorts you can watch. They also do great theme channels so you can watch content like "Halloween movies". I use this app a lot more than Netflix.

This is the big one to me. I agree with the OP if you don't care for Marvel and Star Wars, and are only interested in new/original content, then it isn't a great service. But if you like Disney content in general it is great having all the old shows and movies as well.

We bailed after our D23 D+ expired after the first three years, nothing they offer appeals to me enough to pay them.

Not sure if you can account share on there anymore. I know some services were cracking down on that.

I've had D+ since the original 3-year offer and even though it costs a lot more now, I can't bring myself to cancel it. Hulu is another story altogether, as I keep canceling it and they keep giving me ridiculously cheap monthly (including ads) deals, so I keep it.

I'm not a SW or Marvel person either, but I did enjoy the Mandalorian series. I like the collection of movies on D+ and often find something to watch there when all our other streaming services fail us. We just recently binged a fascinating documentary on NatGeo (also part of D+)--Cursed Gold, about the salvaging of a ship that sank in 1857 (the Central America, if you're interested!).

And I love almost all the Forky episodes and rewatch them, especially after viewing something yicky.

So I'm not planning on canceling anytime in the near future.

I am not a SW or marvel person. We canceled 2 years ago and I have not missed it.

I’m happy they don’t have the full rights to marvel at WDW so the parks aren’t full marvel rides and merch.

I do like Marvel (at least the movies), but I actually agree that I wouldn't want a ton of Marvel at WDW. Guardians works because it's so different, but that's about all I'd like to see. The contract with Universal is a blessing in many ways.

Yeah, I know. I move between 3 households though so it's not like I am watching all at the same time. So, hopefully it will still work...

I’ve mostly enjoyed all the Marvel and Star Wars stuff, caught a few recent movies I otherwise would have missed, and I’m looking forward to more Percy Jackson. I’ve also been calling for Scarecrow of Romney Marsh since D+ started.
