Has Disney Ever Given you Free Passes

not me, but my uncle. we had been in mk for a couple hours, and my 2 year old cousin starting puking all over the place, he was all sorts of sick. so my uncle talked to somebody, and they gave him a one day hopper since he had to leave with my cousin.

also, we all got blizzard beach passes cause a storm came in and the park closed when we had been there for less than an hour. but i think that's the normal policy. if you're there less than an hour, you get a replacement pass.

No, and I wouldn't expect them either.

They did "replace" our MVMCP tickets with another day when the party was basically "rained out."

Yes, several years ago we experienced a power outage in MK. They said it had never happened before. We got 1 day park passes to make up for the day we used on our hoppers.

Yes. But I had to work for them and practically promise them my firstborn. (She's 13 now, I'm still waiting for them to take her! )

YES!
When we spent a day at the Backstage Magic tour, they gave us a one day one park pass at the end of the tour. I think they did this because we needed passes for the tour, and we basically burned a whole day.

No, but then again, I've never asked.

Just curious...why do you want to know?

Yup. One time we got a free LOS (Length of Stay) pass for Sarah (worth $200 if I remember correctly). We were checking in and the resort computers were down. We waited patiently for 30 minutes and were finally given keys to our room and asked to come back later to pickup our passes and to formally checkin. When we came back, I made an offhand remark that we should be compenstated for our trouble. I wasn't upset and was really only joking. The CM told me that he/she would give me a special discount on my DD's pass. I asked if it were a better discount than my Magic Kingdom Club pass discount and I was assured that it was. I almost passed out when I was told that I had been comp'ed an LOS pass.

Without giving away too much more detail, these were the days when certain DVC members (who purchased before August 1995) were given a number of free LOS passes when staying at a DVC resort. With the room we were staying in, we got four passes and only needed to buy one pass for our 5th person in the party. And that particular year, we didn't even have to do that.

On one other occasion, I got into Disney Studios without needing a park pass. This was during DIScon 2001. I had a (free) ticket to see a taping of Who Want's To Be A Millionaire. I wasn't certain whether or not I would need a park pass that day, so I bought a single day pass. It turns out that I did NOT need a ticket that day. Unfortunately, my flight home that day was such that I had to leave directly from the taping and head for the airport. I had just enough time to get a refund for my one day pass.

I guess that I've been lucky twice. :)

Last Christmas Eve they had to cancel a performance of the Candlelight Processional (Horrific thunderstorm). We had the CP package and had preferred seating.

They gave us several dates to choose from to return and have priority seating. We never asked about tickets since we had AP's, but I would imagine that Guest Services did compensate the guests who needed park entry as well.

One time I was sitting in the AK guest services area while DH went to the car to drop off some packages. While there, I saw a very unpleasant guest yell at a CM because he didn't see enough animals while on the Safari. His logic was that he saw the AK promoted when Regis & Kathie Lee were there, and they showed tons of animals. He wanted free tickets to another park to compensate him. (Meanwhile, he was already using free tickets to the AK that he got from who knows what complaint.)

If I hadn't seen and listened to it, I never would have imagined anyone would do this. The CM very nicely declined giving him the passes which only made him go ballistic. The last I saw, a manager intervened and was supporting the CM's position.

Yes, Last year we waited for are room to be ready and at 7:00 it still wasn't and i had four kids and dh and myself , we all got one days passes to hop because it took up are whole day.

Way back in the days of lettered tickets (A-B-C-D-E) I was signed in free to Disneyland and given booklets of tickets that were good on any ride. I worked with (not for) Disney at the time and it was there way of saying thanks.

My mom and I even got to ride Big Thunder when it soft opened that day - wouldn't have known the times without the CM's help.

Not by Disney but we got free hopper tickets from Universal.

I know, off topic but, I know someone who makes it a "career" to scam companies out of $$'s for little or no reason. Her latest trick has been to get free airline tickets because she DID NOT get bumped from her booked flight as the airline told her there was a chance she could be. And, she has been offered $1000 off of a $3000 floor she had installed 3 times so far and is unhappy with. She's not willling to accept the $1000 because she feels she should get more. It takes all kinds. I get very angry hearing her tales and when I've told her so, she just shrugs as if it's an everyday thing.

My family was sent vouchers for Disneyland, completely unexpected! We were there last Thanksgiving week, had a wonderful time with a few disappointments. I sent them an
e-mail telling them our "highs" and "lows" (many more highs than lows). We did have a problem for our Thanksgiving meal being promised that the restaurant in our hotel would serve a traditional meal and it did not. We ate there anyway and went to the parks, but my husband had stayed, the management did offer to find us another place, but we had already eaten. We also had a hard time finding good food in the parks. My only other low was the way cancelling the fireworks was handled. I did not ask for any compensation, just wanted to let them know my thoughts. The vouchers are for 2 years, so we are hoping to take my daughter after she graduates from high school.

This happened at Disneyland. Quite a few years ago. My daughter was playing in Donald's boat in Toontown. They have a rope ladder to climb. She was six. Lost her grip and fell to the floor which was covered with stuff like sandpaper to give you traction when stuff is wet. She had sand ground into her forehead, her mouth, and she had broken her wrist.

The CM's were wonderful. Drove us (golf cart type thingy) to first aid (behind the scenes) and there a security guard drove us to the hospital. We were taken in immediately (the waiting room was full) and were done in less than 3 hours. Security came to pick us up and asked where we wanted to go. My daughter was feeling ok and wanted to return to the park. I asked him to take us to the hotel so she could change clothes (she had plaster of paris stuff all over her pants) quickly and drop us off back at the park. Then it dawned on me that we didn't have our hands stamped and I asked him how we could get back in without using another day on our pass. He said, "Ma'am don't worry about a thing."

He took us back to first aid where we were met by some suits. They told me that they would pay the medical bills. I told them that wasn't necessary since insurance 100% covered emergencies. They gave us passes to go to the front of the line for the remainder of our trip. My daughter was in heaven. I swear it was like we were wearing a sign because for the next three days all these characters seem to come out of the woodwork and approach HER to give her autographs and ask about her wrist. Her arm was in a sling to keep it elevated to prevent swelling.

She considers that her best trip ever because of all the attention she received and didn't have to seek out.

I know I could have made a big deal out of what happened, but that is not my style. Just need to take care of the basics and go on. We had a great trip!
