Has CRO ever lost your ressie?

I just had a big scare!

We made ressies about 2 weeks ago - for the Beach Club, 7/2-7/9. Well, I knew my deposit was due 6/13 because that is what the CM told me and I have a great memory...especially when it comes to Disney "stuff." I had not received my confirmation letter, so I'm sitting at work and I decided to call and give them my deposit via CC - or rather Debit Card. I usually mail in a check.

WELL - they couldn't find my reservation. :confused3 I didn't have my conf # with me, but in the past they've been able to use my name and phone # to find it if for some reason I didn't have my conf # with me. The CM looked and looked, then they put me on hold for the longest time. Then she came back and said they still couldn't find it...asked a bunch of questions like "was this a package?" "Did a travel agent book it for you?" Did you call this same number." blah blah - I booked it myself, no TA, called the 407 W Disney number.

I said, "Listen, you're going to have to find it OR ensure that I will get the room I reserved at the AP rate or I may go absolutely bezerk and pass out here."

Finally, they found it. :goodvibes I made my deposit, and now all is well. I hope.

I wonder if Disney has indeed lost someone's ressie? What did they do about it? Did you get what you wanted as far as room and rate?

This has never happened to me.

Whew - I'm going to splash cold water on my face now.

Eastern Airlines did...years ago. We had paid in full for the entire Eastern Airlines package, (I had receipts) and when we arrived at the Poly, they didn't have our ressie and they didn't have a room. After they called Eastern to verify that we booked, paid, etc they offerred to send us to the CR. I told them quite firmly that I was not leaving the front desk until we had a room at the Poly. Amazingly they found one.

Yes, several years ago for a ressie over Christmas week at a Disney Institute Villa. I always call the week before to check on everything. Well, this time, they had no record of anything. I gave them my Conf# and said I had the charge on our Amex statement in my hand. I even gave them the name of the CM who had booked it for me. Nope. Nothing.

I took a deep breath before I totally freaked, told her that it had all been paid for more than EIGHT months ago and to dig up a supervisor and FIND IT! This was our family Christmas for the year, a very special trip. It was also an expensive trip - the old "everything paid for" plan, including all food (even room service), sports, shows, tours, etc.

A very nice supervisor quickly called me. I gave her all the info and she called back about two hours later. She said that indeed, no, they could NOT find it in the system, but she had personally taken care of everything. She verified room, meal ressies, golf, even tours and gave me a new Conf# and faxed me the confirmation sheet. Whew!

When we got to WDW, we found goodies in our villa. A framed Beauty & the Beast cell, a stuffed Mickey, a small Christmas tree, a basket of munchies and a nice card. A Disney concierge-type person knocked on our door a little later, welcomed us and RE-verified everything. She said they would have sent a larger tree, but the florist was out(!). She wouldn't accept a tip so I gave her a Mickey chocolate.

I later called the supervisor back and thanked her for her help and the goodies, and told her how wonderful our trip had been. She said, "It was the least we could do. Christmas at Disney is special!"

I wonder if this kind of "apology" would happen now.

DisFlan - they sure rectified your situation didn't they? That's fabulous service...the kind of service you expect from Disney.

I'm so paranoid now, I still haven't received a confirmation letter. I'm going to call once a week and confirm my ressie. Just to make sure it doesn't "magically disappear" again.

What a nightmare - arriving and no record of your ressie. They would have one mad Southern gal on their hands if that happened. I might pass out. :rolleyes1

PamNC - that's why I ALWAYS call a week or two before the trip. Just to make sure everything is okay. It usually is, but there was that one time when it wasn't. It's worth the call to be sure.

Have a great trip!
