Has Boma gotten that bad?????

Been dining here since 2004 and it is still our favourite buffet at WDW, we will be there again this November :cool1:

BOMA is the BEST BUFFET at Walt Disney World in my opinion. Excellent service, Excellent Food, Excellent atmosphere.

We agree 100%. My wife is not a fan of buffets and every year we seem to drop another one from the list but she still insists we go to Boma every trip.

We ate here in January and were really disappointed. But, we had never eaten here before, there were no potatoes on the buffet, and the meat choices were slim. None of the desserts really appealed to us either. I figure that if you used to like it, you probably still will. We aren't really picky eaters, but this just really wasn't for us. Seemed like it would be great for a vegetarian.

Boma was great when it opened, a true mix of various African inspired offerings but the DDP's ended that and generic "American" food infiltrated the offerings more and more to the delight of families whose kids are "picky eaters" ... Since then the changes are simply budget cuts related to the seasonal free dining programs. It's still OK but nothing like it should be ... And certainly very little is African inspired. Sad.

I posted our experience on another thread a few days ago, but basically, we gave up my beloved Tusker House to try Boma after hearing nothing but rave reviews about it.... many referring to Tusker House as "Boma-lite"....

We ate there on July 17th @ dinner and I don't think I'll go back :( While both restaurants have a wide variety of foods such as falafel, hummus, etc.... I think the offerings at Boma were less and some were just too far out for us to attempt :rolleyes1

As others have mentioned, it may have something to do with the spices and such, but Tusker House has spices as well-my family just prefers Tusker House hands-down.

Oh and I didn't like the raved-about Zebra-dome :rotfl: :rotfl:

Next time it'll be back to Tusker :thumbsup2

We have been there three times since Summer 2007 with the last time being 3 months ago and I thought it was awesome every time! Will go back again (multiple times) on next visit. :)

We ate at Boma for dinner last Oct. and we enjoyed it even our youngest DD that is a "VERY PICKY" eater.. She loved it and we have it booked for our Sept. trip this year.

I ate at Boma last August and loved it. So much of the food at Disney is stuff you can get any where, it is more aboutt he experience. Boma had food that I had never had before, it was nice to experience some thing different. It was one of our favorite meals.

Boma has fabulous breakfast food but the dinner is not that great and overpriced in my opinion.

The menu has been dumbed down over the years ! It has ONLY gone down if you compare it to years ago. Disney knows that most guests have nothing to compare, thus approve it as being good!
Bottom line, Di$ney will continue to dumb down menus as most will never know :lmao:

Thank You FREE DINING :scared1:

We ate there 3x over a couple of years during different months, and it was the same thing:

- broken pagers when checking-in, so very chaotic at front
- horrible service (servers seeme overworked)
- food was ok
- because restaurant is big, it is loud and so very busy (kids running around)

We think it needs a bit of tweaking, and then maybe it will improve. We won't go back for awhile.

We went to Boma for the first time in 2008ish and really, really liked it. We put it on the list for our next family trip, which ended up being in March of this year. The service was good, and checking in was easy. The food was fine. Desserts were excellent, and the cous cous and soups were delicious. The meats were not as good as we remembered. Fine, but unremarkable. And, of course, prices had gone up since our last meal there. We had a good time, but we won't be back next trip. Maybe the one after that.

We've have eaten at Boma 3xs since 2007 and each time the service and food was just wonderful. :wizard:
