Has anyone with reservation this weekend talked to Member Services?

I have a reservation that starts this Saturday, March 14. I am in Florida staying with my parents. With the parks closing, I don't think that we are going to go to Disney. Has anyone with a reservation this soon actually talked to Member Services to know what to do? Since the resorts are staying open, would that affect it? Do I need to cancel my reservation online? Do you know what will happen to my points? I can't imagine that they wouldn't return the points, but I highly doubt that I will get through to Member Services before Saturday to find out. I can speculate and I hope that they will let us know tomorrow, but thought I'd check here to see if anyone knows for sure.Thanks!
 
I would call and wait on gold tomorrow. If you can’t get through, if it were me, I’d cancel online and then try to get them to remove holding status. I would not wait until Saturday to cancel.

thats what we did during Hurricane Irma. We couldn’t get through and finally dvc said to cancel online and send them an email and they would make adjustments
 

I’m on site right now at SSR. Have a reservation beginning Sunday at OKW I’d like to cancel. Is there somewhere I can visit here at Disney to talk to a Member Services person?
 
I just sent them an email regarding a reservation a week from today, for 1 day at Riviera prior to a planned cruise on the Fantasy. Figured it would be easier than waiting on hold.
 
They are saying the resorts are still open and my family is wondering if we should still go to our resort reservation or if they are allowing it. We rented DVC and did not get a protection plan. Who plans for a pandemic....but we are willing to go sit by the pool and go to springs, just wondering if that is still a thing. Not sure if we will be getting a refund for that.
 
i just went ahead and canceled my trip in 2 weeks online and had planned to email them to remove from holding account because I couldn't get thru but when I went thru with cancel, it put all my points back where they belonged and not into holding. I was hoping this would be the case. would save them aggravation too and just let people cancel it themselves instead of tying up the phone lines.
 
Another data point -- cancelled reservation online now for checkin 3/17 -- got screen that indicated points would go into holding -- clicked OK -- points are in original UY and bankable -- so did not go to holding.

I tried this figuring worst-case, they would go into holding and then I could send an email to convert back into normal points.

Thank you for posting! I'm going to go try this now, fingers crossed that it works. We're supposed to check in tomorrow for a trip using borrowed 2019 points and 2020 points.

Let us know how it worked. I have a check in on Sunday and I was wondering the same thing.
 
Just got off the phone with member services after calling right at 9am, most of that time was waiting on hold. I was able to cancel our reservation that was supposed to begin 3/15. The CM stated the points would temporarily be placed in holding but would be put back where they came from within 30 days. In my case these were banked points from 2018 in my 2019 UY. The points are already showing back in my 2019 UY on the dashboard, so the systemic change must already be in place as indicated above. Now to figure out what to do with these points by 9/30...
 
We canceled our ressie online and after 45 minutes of redialing I'm finally in the waiting cue. But I need to see if they'll allow me to bank my points. We won;t be using them for a trip this year. It's 200 points that I'd rather not go to waste.

We’re kicking around the same idea, I’m going to open a thread either in resorts or miscellaneous to get the scoop on whats open, guess we’ll really now more after the parks close. What’s your check in date?
 
I cancelled my reservation for tomorrow online and my points went directly back into my account with no holding. I was able to use them immediately book a room for a planned trip in October.

Didnt work for me. My points are in holding. They are borrowed so I wonder if that is why.
 
I spoke with MS this am after 70mins on hold. She was fantastic. We were due to check into Copper Creek on 3/15 for 6 nights - mix of UY2020 & a few UY2021 borrowed points. We have a June use year. She asked if we would try to visit before June and I said probably not (not knowing how long this will last & what availability will be like). She then banked our 2020 points (despite missing banking deadline in Jan) and returned the few borrowed points to 2021. Very pleasant, efficient call with CM - I didn’t have to ask for exception, she just gave it. Now to console the kiddos ...
