Has anyone went this route?

This says this is the shortest distance to the Fort from I-75 according to Mapquest. And when FICQUETTE RD becomes REAMS RD (Gate access required) can you get through there. We are pulling a 27 ft. and have reservations at the Fort.

Last time we went we stayed on the turnpike until we saw the Disney signs. It took as right to the front gate. We went through I think 2 toll booths the exit was Western Way.Then there was a sign Walt Disney and it took you in by Animal Kingdom & Cornodo Spring area. Once you get onto Disney proerty its so easy to follow the signs. I think the way you are going is longer and takes you right throug alot of traffiic. Less traffic going the other.
I'm sure others will post with more accurate directions.

I-75 south to Fl turnpike, turnpike south to SR429, SR429 toward Tampa, continue on 429 to exit 8, Hartzog/Disney World, right at the end of the exit ramp. Follw this road(Western Way) to the traffic light, turn left at the light and follow to signs to MK area resorts.

The route your are asking about is fine if you know your way around, but it really is more of a local use road, with a lot of local traffic on it.

The turnpke and 429 do have tolls, but the money spent in tolls is saved in gas(stop and go) and traffic agrivation.

I used to go that way down 535 to Vista Blvd, its a two lane road with a few curves. We now take 429 to Western way, Freeway all the way to WDW and much faster..

I left the Fort last December and came out on the Hwy 535 route just to try it (your route in reverse). I tow a pop-up and while there are 4-lane sections nearest Disney and the turnpike ends, there is a several mile stretch of 2-lane in between that includes a couple 90-degree turns at intersections. Most of the 2-lane portion was being widened (under construction). Also a couple traffic lights to sit through....

Having satisfied my curiosity, I still think the Western Way/Hwy 429S combo is the best way to go if you are pulling something.

Go this way, we went in this way in April with our 38' motorhome. BTW, watch your speed once you get off 429, they like to write tickets on this entrance.
