Has Anyone Used WDW Spa Services?

I'd like to surprise my husband with a massage on this trip. We're not doing any of the parks - this is a total relaxation trip...lots of pool time and Disney nightlife. I'd like to schedule a spa treatment, but have no idea of which resort to chose, which treatment, etc. Do they do anything for couples?

I know that the Yacht Club and the Grand Floridian offer this service.

I'd love to hear your opinions!!

Hi, I have used the Grand Floridian Spa a couple of times and it is the loveliest place I have ever had a facial. My husband used it too and enjoyed it. If you arrive early you could use the gym facilities or just relax in the hot tub.

They do have a service where a couple can take a massage in the same room together.

We've had massages at the Institue and it was terrific. I would certainly recommend it.

Are the prices for the spa services reasonable? Or does anyone know wher eI could check them out in advance?

Katherine, I found the spa services to be terribly expensive. I am sure it was about $100 for my facial plus they add a 15% tip. It was worth it for a nice treat though. Not sure of the current prices, as I haven't had a treatment for over a year at the GF. There used to be a menu of treatments somewhere on the web - I will try to find it for you.

I would also like to see a list of the prices. I am planning on a massage at AKL, maybe, if it's not horribly expensive.

If you call the GF and get connected to the spa, they will be happy to fax you a brochure and price list. I suprised my wife with an aroma-therapy bath and massage and she loved it. I waited in the lounge on the second floor of the GF, I loved it too....lol

The GF Spa Menu with prices is located here :

I am a regular client at the GF Spa. It's wonderful. I've written several detailed reviews on these boards, if you do a search they'll come up.

I find the prices to be in line with other resort spas I've visited, as well as the Jurlique Day Spa in my area (the GF Spa uses Jurlique products).

They offer a couples massage, although DH and I didn't think it was anything special and prefer our massages apart. He prefers a sports massage without the aromatherapy and dimmed lights. He just wants someone to beat out the kinks :D. I prefer a more traditional relaxing Swedish massage.

I've never had the tip automatically added to my bill, although I always tip 15-20%.

We have used the DI Spa and it was great.
You should have access to the fitness center there all day the day of your appointment.

Can those of you who used the spa facility at the Disney Institute tell me how to go about scheduling? Were you staying there at the time? Do you know where I can find pricing?

Thanks!!

Hi Patty!

I booked a spa package with the Spa at DI through email at: WDW.DI.Group.Reservations@disney.com

They also have a phone number you can call for information: (407) 827-4455

The only somewhat tricky thing about the Spa at DI is finding transportation there. Since the resort itself is closed while being converted to a DVC resort, there really isn't any official transportation available. Here are the transportation options the spa suggested:

1. Disney Transportation is available to Downtown Disney or Old Key West Resort. From both of those locations it is a short walk
of 15 minutes or so to the Disney Institute.

2. If you choose to go to Old Key West you can have their bell services call the spa and we will be happy to pick you up from there.

3. You can also ask the bell services desk at your resort once you arrive what other modes of transportation may be available.

I found the Spa at DI to be very helpful and informative. It also appears their prices are slightly lower than those at the GF spa.

If you booked a vacation package that includes wishes, you can spend them on certain services at the spa (i.e. european facial). The spa can send you a booklet that outlines all the services, prices, and upon request, will highlight which services are covered by wishes.

Good luck and have a great time!

I believe the Spa is treated the same way golf tee times and Institute classes were.

Just go to bell services at your hotel and tell them you have a spa appointment at Disney Institute and you should get a voucher for a cab ride.

Then check with the spa staff for your return trip.

If that is not offered, then the easiest way is to take a bus from your resort to Downtown Disney and then walk over to Disney Institute. Go past the West Side parking lot and there will be a sidewalk.
