Has anyone used Virgin Flying Club's new CombiFare?

This is a new reward class for Economy and PE whereby you pay for one leg and use miles for the other. There's no online search tool - you have to phone the FC helpline for prices and availability - and I'm wondering what the miles/cash rates look like.

sounds like a good idea, when i worked there loads of people called and asked to do this.

be interested to know as well for next year as i have loads of miles saved up now
