I remember reading a post that one of the members said they regularly requested and paid for turn down service on their stays. (it may have been TerryS)??
Has anyone requested this lately?

We want to request it for our stay next week. pampering all the way baby ;) ;)

oh and what does turndown include?
do they turn the bed down like in the regular rooms? thanks

Disney-Kim... You are right, I have gotten the Turn Down Service. I haven't had it in the last few months so hopefully someone else that has will answer this for you also. Looks like you will be going before me so I can't even report back when I get back Mid-October and tell you how it went. You will have to report back for me!

Basically, they will, make, if not already done and turn down all the beds (we get a 2 bedroom with 3 beds), sometimes they put chocholates on the beds and they will give you fresh towels.

I think its $10 per night. basically we want the turned down bed and towels.

It is free in the deluxe resorts in a regular room! In the 2 bedroom Villa I was in it cost $10 each time! I think they might have decided to charge for this so people don't use this in lieu of paying for a trash and towel.

We were going to pay for Trash/Towel every day but we liked the turndown idea better. Just like having fresh towels and stuff at night.

Turn down service in DVC they'll coem and make your bed, too?

Can soemoen lay out what the differences are in turn down service at DVc and trash and towel service?
What was the price on trash and towel service?

Can you only request an extar trasha and towel service for one day?

I didn't see the turndown service in the member guidebook. Is it formally offered at all the DVC resorts? And it includes towels? This would be great. Anyone know how many towels? Same # as comes with trash and towel service?

lenshanem and disneycrazed139... here is what I can tell you. I have requested and received turn down service at BCV. It is not in the guide book so, no, it is not formally offered at all resorts. It also might be one of those things that depends on the CM you talk to when you check in. For me, in the 2 bedroom Villa at BCV, it cost $10 per night requested. It included making the bed (since I never do this, I am on vacation), turning down the bed, (with chocholates left on the bed) and replacing towels. As far as the towels, they only replaced ones that were thrown in the tub or on the floor.

For the heck of it, I called BC and asked about turn down service, and he said of course you can request it and it is no charge. I asked if that was the case in a 2 bedroom Villa and he kind of stuttered a bit, put me on hold. He then came back and told me it would cost $10.

lenshanem, According the memeber guidebook, additional Trash and Towel service is $10 per day requested, you can request as many days as you would like and includes:

- Empty Trash
- Provide fresh bathroom linens
- Replace facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper.
- Replenish coffe, sugar, cream and sweetners
- Replenish dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, sponges, and laundry detergent as need.

Just an FYI, in my experience they don't always do all of this.

OK, I know that there are horrible things happening in the world, and I should be grateful that I get to go to WDW with my family, and have ANOTHER fabulous vacation, but I REALLY wasn't looking forward to making the beds every morning.... I know, Cinderella's stepsisters must be related to me;) Lazy!

There's a Mastercard commercial in there somewhere...(I know, it should be Visa, but Cdns can't have it!)

DVC -14,000
Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream - 20.00 (?)
A made bed on vacation...and not by me!! All together now! "Priceless!"

I agree, I would rather have my bed made any day. It sounds, though, that this service was offered as a courtesy to you, Terry S, and not like it is something that is really available to all. It can't hurt to ask, right? I would rather pay $10.00 for bed made and fresh towels. I'll take out my own trash! I would be thrilled if I could get fresh towels and a made bed. To me, those are the essential aspects of housekeeping. Anyone else have any experience with this? And Terry, have you requested this more than once or just the one time?

This is a much better option for us than T&T.

I like having the bed made also. And Fresh Towels!

I would not mind paying for this at all!

Do they let the sofa-bed out and turn it down also?

Disney-Kim, Have a great trip and please post your experience with Turn Down when you get back! Are you getting back before October 3rd? That is when we leave!

LIFERBABE... We had a 2 bedroom and didn't need to use the sleeper sofa, but I think they would do it if they knew you needed it.

i'm just bumping this post up to the top because i'm wondering if any DISers have had any more recent experiences with requesting Turn Down Service at a DVC resort.

also, has anyone successfully requested this in a resort other than BCV?

btw, do they also give you new soap/shampoo, and replenish toilet paper and kleenex in the bathroom? or is it strictly towels only?

and what time do they usually come to the room to do turn down?

I've had it down before and it makes you feel more like a queen. It's a nice touch to get it done and know that you are on vacation and there to have a good time. I am not sure how it is at the DVC resorts, but you should be able to find out the time that they will do that when you tell them that you would like to request this service. If you need more shampoos and soaps, you should be able to call room service for it.

I am wondering if you can only get turndown at the DVCs that are attached to deluxe resorts, since deluxe resorts have that amenity and share staff with DVC resorts.

I called to ask about turn down service today and the person I spoke with told me it was not available. She did tell me that I will receive maid service when I'm there for my trip. So, here is my question:

Do you have to be a member of DVC to get turn down service? I thought my dh and parents would get a kick out of it and was going to do it as a surprise?

Anything else I should know about? This will be our first experience at OKW and we are staying in a 2BR. Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks!
