We were discussing our 9 day trip last night. Someone said they heard about a grocery delivery service. Is this a rumor of fact?? How does it work. Can someone send some info my way???? We will be renting a frig in a room while we are there. :thumbsup2

There are at least three of them that people here talk about. The one I used and love is Gooding's (www.goodings.com), a local supermarket (it's private, not a chain). People say they're the most expensive around, but I love the convenience of it. They deliver your order to your resort's Bell Services (BS), which means you don't have to wait around for the delivery. If you happen to be in your room, great, BS will deliver it to you. If you're not in, great, BS will hold onto it for you (and will keep the cold stuff cold!) and you can call and request it to be delivered when you're good and ready. Gooding's charges a $10 delivery fee, and there's a $50 minimum. Gooding's can;t deliver alcohol (a lot of people have asked this in the past; the places below CAN deliver alcohol).

There are two stand-alone delivery services that a lot of people on the board swear by. There is www.wegoshop.com and www.gardengrocer.com. These are delivery-only businesses. They will shop wherever you want, and deliver it to you. Unless I'm wrong, I'm under the impression that you have to be present for the delivery. That's why I prefer Gooding's -- I don't have to waste time waiting around for a delivery. I can just GO and have fun and not be concerned about where I have to be and when. That's my normal life -- I'm on vacation and I don't want to concern myself with such things!

Where are you staying? On property?

I ask because I was going to order some items this way, then realized that the resorts have a lot of grocery items now due to the villas. We stayed at the Beach Club and I was able to buy 1/2 gal container of Milk, small cereals, box of donuts, etc..

I also brought a totebag (which was my carryon) filled with my son's snacks. Dinosaur Ritz Crackers, his favorite cookies, Teddy Grahams, etc... The bag was empty by the end of the week and I was able to put souvenears in it.

Just an idea,

We used www.gardengrocer.com for our Jan trip. We were very pleased w/ their service. We did not have to be present to accept delivery. The guy delivered our stuff right before we checked in - he just left it w/ bell services.

i used wegoshop last year and they sucked. they didnt deliver my stuff until 11:45pm, it was supposed to arrive at 8:30pm. and they bouht the wrong things despite my specific instructions (size and number of dipes, size and type of rice milk for my daughter). maybe they have improved but i wouldnt use them again.

We use garden grocer in January and you do not have to be there for delivery. The website is easy to use and if there is something you want that is not on the website just let them know and they will get try to get it for you. They also deliver beer and wine. The service was great and I am using them again in a few weeks.

We used www.wegoshop.com our last trip. We had no problems. They bought everything we order as specified. There service was very prompt. She did have a really loud squeaky cart that almost woke DD (3 months at the time). We had no problems and I would use them again.

I know that the day she delivered food for us, she had made over 10 deliveries that day. I would assume if one early delivery gets you behind, it could have a domino effect for the entire day.

I used wegoshop in October 05 and we did not have to be present to accept the delivery. In fact my order was waiting at the AKL when we checked in. Everything was perfect including the few substitutions they had to make.

Bell services stored the bags until our arrival, even putting the perishables in a frige (including the 12 pack of beer)!

I may use them again for my April trip to BWV if we need enough to make it worth it. Otherwise since its such a short tip I may just get a few things at the screen door.

I wanted to use gardengrocer but it is asking me for the zip code. Does anyone know what it is for WDW? TIA

Gardengrocers. Loved them and will use them everytime we go down. It is so nice to have drinks and snacks in the room. What a great service.
