Has anyone used Priceline.com to rent a car?

Yes it's legit. They go through the well-known rental companies in your area depending on the location you specify. You can find more info on using priceline on sites such as biddingfortravel.com (hope it's OK to mention other sites here).

I get great cars - I am always given a choice of cars. $24 for a minivan. $13 for a compact.....


Most of the cars Iget a pretty well loaded and are low mileage.

We haven't done it in CA, but have for Hawaii. We've had good luck and plan on using them again for car rentals. We got a premium car for less then we were quoted anywhere for a compact. And when we got there they said they didn't have a set category for premium and we were given a choice of any car they had on the lot. I know most would have gone with the convertible with it being Hawaii, but we chose a Subaru 4wd and liked it so much we bought one when we were back home.
