Has anyone used Expedia before?

Hi I'm going on my second trip to Walt Disney World in December. Last time I booked through a travel agent and fully intended to again this time but whilst satisfying my curiosity on the internet I found I could save £600 by going with Expedia. It was a no brainer really! :teeth:

So I'm all booked up, off to port orleans riverside on the 8th December for a week. :ccat:

But I'm getting a bit fidgity! I'm used to using travel agents, and ours is fabulous they keep you informed about everything, completely the opposite to booking online! lol!

I was just wondering if anyone has booked with expedia before and how they found the experience? Should I ring the hotel to confirm everything?
I'm not bothered about ringing the USA because I'm going to do that anyway booking Mickey's Christmas party, dining etc.

Anyhoo just looking for general advice and support! I'm so excited I just don't want anything to go wrong!

Thanks

I've used Expedia to book flights to California and Las Vegas. I have also used them to book accomodation at DL. We never had a problem. I would just kept an eye on your flights because sometimes the times change and they don't let you know.

Ive always used them to book flights to Albania and its always been fine.

I used them to book a hotel at DLP in July, no problems at all, wouldn't hesitate booking with them again

Agree with Catherine and the other posters... I would guess that I have used Expedia 30/40 times for flights/hotels etc and have never had a problem. To be honest, I am a real "travel tart" will book with whoever has the lowest price - no loyalty from me... ;)

However, I ALWAYS take a print out of the confirmation email with me - just in case there is any problem (having things in black and white is always good). It will have your "confirmation/reservation number" on it too. Don't think I have ever needed it, but it gives me peace of mind :)

Agree with Catherine about flights - since 99% of their flights are e-ticketed (so you don't get paper tickets) it is always worth re-checking your flight times with the airline (you can do it online - each airline will have a website with flight schedules on it...). Personally have generally found Expedia good at notifying me of flight time changes, but it is always a good idea to double check your flight times shortly before departure anyway... (even the most frequent flyers can get caught out by mis-reading flight times! ;) ).

So, have peace of mind and enjoy spending that £600 you saved on something else instead (like nice meals at Disney and nice gifts for yourself and others...) :)

We have used expedia on a couple of occassions and everything as always worked out fine, they have notified us of flight time change. This will be the first time we have had e tickets though, so hope they work

Pretty much the same from me, i've booked many flights, hotels, cars e.t.c in USA and Europe and never had a problem (even when our holiday was cancelled due to a hurricane they were great arranging other arrangements)

I always print out the confirmation but have never needed them.

I've used Expedia quite a few times without any problems. :thumbsup2 I've found them better at keeping you informed of changes in flight times than when I've booked directly with airlines.

I agree with all the above... we've used Expedia for years for packages and just flights and never had any problem with them at all. Always found them to be a very good deal.

enjoy!

I've booked with Expedia before too and just wanted to also say that I've never had a problem either. I always print out the confirmation just in case as it's always better to have something in your hand if the worst should happen but thankfully it never has!!

I've used Expedia several times without any problems. You will be fine.

Ditto for us. Used them several times with no problems. Have had e-tickets and they have also advised us via email of any changes to our flight times. Much better experiences than one we had with Airline Network - who were hopeless at resolving our problems!

Thanks to everyone who's replied. Its put my mind at ease :thumbsup2 I'll still be really fidgity tho! lol! I'll just have to make do with booking Disney dining and the like to keep my excitement levels up!

Thanks Tracy. Its a picture of my little baby Lorelei who sadly passed away in June. But I've just got two new ratties to try and ease my heart ache and they're gorgeous!
