using the bags that go into your slow cooker? I heard you can get a ziplock brand bag that you can use in your slow cooker and the food cooks in it just like it would but with out the mess. You just pull the bag out and throw it away and no washing required.

Im looking for a time saver.

Thanks

yes, Yes, and YES. :thumbsup2

We have a big crockpot (it's oval not round) and the bags are just that: disposable thus easy to clean. Around here not every grocery carries the bags and of course a little beef stew sauce gets trapped in the folds and (sadly) wasted.

But I lick the spoon and dig deep to get every last drop.

We don't use the bags at home EVERY time (after all the kids do dishes nearly every night) but since you are posting this on the DIS Camping/Fort page I can see how it would be speedy on the cleanup side while staying at the Fort.

Throw dinner in the crock pot in a bag in the morning, enjoy the parks, come to a delicious dinner, and spend 10 minutes on clean up.

Sounds like a plan. :cool1:

Thanks :) Nice tip! I am starting to plan meals for my August trip (can you tell I'm excited?) and this sounds like a great idea. :thumbsup2

Have used and they do save on some serious cleaning time. They don't necessarily get used each time, since our crockpot is oval and has the divider so you can cook two things at once. We skip on the bags when we use the divider, but use the bags otherwise.

I NEVER use my crockpot without using them.
I use Reynolds Slow Cooker Liners.
They come 4 in a box.

To me, food issues are serious items (Napolean said once an army travels on its stomach). :lmao:

A divider? I need to look into that. Our big oval crockpot is at most half full most times and a divider means I could cook a dessert on the other side. :worship:

Are they expensive??? 4 to a box seem low but then I use my slow cooker 2 times a week. So I would have to stock up on alot of them.

2 things at once.....I must know this trick!!!

Would never be caught crockin' without them ! Awesome!!! Another tidbit to pass along...we have starting using an electric skillet to cook about all out camping food on unless we grill. I can make biscuits/ brownies in it using a small wire rack, can also heat beans up in it in a little metal bean pot while my meats are cooking.....actually makes some great burgers and pancakes!!
We found that its a little clumsy to clean but can cut down on some by using an oven bag (like you can cook a turkey in ) on the lid...Just slide the lid in the bag...can watch the food...take bag off after food is done and voila! no extra washing the lid! Especially good after making homefries..mmmmmm. Rest wipes clean with a paper towel! When we eventually get a popup will be taking a crockpot but right now have limited space:(:thumbsup2

I love them too.I used them the first time they came out. I dont use them at home anymore but have been stocking up on stuff for our fort trip. So when I have a coupon for them I pick some up. With the coupon it isnt that bad of a price. Target sells them for $1.97 a box. I havent seen them at our walmart.

Bought it at Wal-Mart, 6 quart oval. You can cook two things at once, just not a lot of each unfortunately. Super Bowl parties and Alabama football games usually when we use the divider, cheese dip and cocktail dogs for instance.
