Hi to all

Less than 30 days!! The first night we are not able to eat at Disney so I am looking for a restaurant off-property. The following have been suggested to me and was wondering if anyone has eaten there and how it was.

Miller's Ale House
Boston Lobster Feast
Butcher Shop.

Thanks in advance.:earsgirl: :earsgirl:

I have eaten at the Ale House before. It is a bar/restaurant. It has a full bar area and then a bar section with the higher tables with stools. Then half the restaurant is regular booth seating.

The food is good to excellent. They have a variety of things from burgers, steaks, salads, wings. They are most famous it seems for their 'zingers' which are wings without bones.

There are Ale Houses all over Florida, and it's one of our favorite old standbys.

If you have kids, the chicken nachos are a great thing to try. They are HUGE. ENORMOUS. I can't emphasize how big these things are. They're a lot of fun, and if you try them, ask for them to be "layered."

The zingers are great, as well. We love the zinger melt!

We ate at Boston Lobster Feast in 2002. Seafood offerings were very good and there was always plenty of food. Server wasn't as attentive as we would have liked in fact spent most of our meal chatting to a friend of hers that was sitting in the next table to ours.

I don't think we would go back again .... too many restaurants, so little time.

There are Ale house's all over Florida..but, that chain starts with the cities name..like Orlando Ale house. The beer is cold, the food is ok. Not worth a special trip over. Not sure what Miller's Ale House is..maybe a copy cat type place.

Boston Lobster Feast..also not worth a trip...yuck, you can get better from your local grocery store.

Butcher shop...is that in the Mercado area?

If you want to eat off site..try Bahama Breeze, Ming Court,
Charlie's Steak House, Jungle Jims..all very good.

Miller's Ale House is actually the official name of the restaurants. If you look closely, the word "Miller" is in small print before "Ale House"

We have always had decent pub food at the Ale House chain in FL It can get very noisy and busy. We like Macaroni Grill for casual Italian. Pebbles for their steak and chicken thumbits(melt in your mouth filet mignon, blackened chicken bruschetta) and daily seafood specials.
Jungle Jim's for unusual burgers. However last week, we must have hit them on a bad day as the buns were very dry to stale on all 3 of our burgers.
Bahama Breeze for Island themed food.
If you like seafood, the Crab House has an excellent all you can eat raw bar($8.99 with entree,$15.99 as meal)
Enjoy your stay. pirate:

Thanks for the info..........can anyone tell where Bahama Breezes is located?

My DH & DD ate at the Orlando Butcher Shop on our last trip and weren't overly impressed. I can't remember what went wrong though. I'll repost when I find out.

The Ale House is okay. We have one here in Tampa. I have never eaten at the one in Orlando.

The Boston Lobster Feast...YUCK. We went there and were SO disappointed. Nothing seemed fresh and the service was awful.

You are all so Helpful!! Thanks...........

Question of the moment............what would you recommend as a good restaurant off property which would have a varied menu (one of us loves fish the rest don't) that won't cost an arm and a leg.

I am beginning to wonder if we should just eat on-property but not in the parks. Arriving on a Thurs afternoon and can't go to the parks until the next day.

How about any restaurant in Downtown Disney..........any recommendations there? Remember good food but don't want to pay an arm and a leg.

Thanks for all your help.

Bahama Breeze is near the entrance to little lake bryant. If you are going from DTD, take road across from DTD past Hilton hotel to the crossroads shopping center intersection. Turn right and go under I-4. Bahama Breeze will be on your left next to Golden Coral Steakhouse.

We're on our way in 1 more day too. We're not going to the park the first day but we are going to our favorite restauarant. The Outback at the Wyndham Palace. We never miss it . Sometimes we go there a couple of times. Another great place is over at Pleasure Island...The Portobella Yaght Club. These are both favorite stops for my daughter too. My mouth's watering now...can't wait to get there.
