this isthe new sight to go to to stop the unwanted telemarketers. I haven't been able to get on it all day, it keeps saying usage too high!

Pennsylvania finally joined, and I managed to get on this afternoon. It's pretty easy.

I don't know this site but I would be careful. I remember reading about another site like this and they actually sold the info to telemarketers!

It was on the news last night here in Philly. They said it was guaranteed to work for up to 5 years. They also gave us a phone number to call, but warned that it, too, was busy. The newsman suggested waiting a day or two to make the call. I wrote down all the info as I am now getting up to 5-6 calls a day!

We just changed our phone plan and got something called privacy manager. It does not let through the automatic dialed calls and any unidentified callers have to identify themselves and then you get the option of taking the call, blocking the call, or sending it to voice mail. I haven't had a telemarketer call since then! YEah!!!!

I just signed up....let's see, I am getting 3-4 calls a day and although I don't give them 2 seconds of my time, it's annoying!

Do not use this type of service and certainly never pay for it, there are free and more effective ways to do the same thing. I've found web-sites that charge for this "service" but I know there is no way they can deliver what they promise.

The only list worth paying to get on would be a state mandated list.

The Direct Marketing Association mantains a list and requires it's members to use it, it is free and information to get on it is on their website.

Pennsylvania's list will be distributed as part of this list but the DMA list is nationwide. There are 4 other states that require it to be used when calling in their states.

Here is the information on state lists. Check if your state is there and if not sign up for the Direct Marketing Association's list.

State Do Not Call Lists

As with anything there are exclusions. They are usually charitable organizations, political parties and existing customers.

edited to add - sounds like from other posts this is a signup site for PA, by all means use it :)

Our state has one and I signed me and my dad up a long time ago. It really is nice not having so many calls.
