They are bandanas that have some kind of gel wrapped in it. When you soak it and put it around your neck, its supposed to keep you cool. I was thinking if buying these for mw, DH, and DD1. I would think they would be selling them out at the stores on clearance now, so I would need to find them fast. Are they worth searching for and buying? Do they work? Where are they sold? I keep buying things for our Oct trip, but don't want to defeat the purpose of budgeting by buying things that don't work...

I bought one last year out of desperation at Epcot .. about $5 or $6 .... you put it in cold water (like at a water fountain) and wring out the drippy water ... put around your neck and guess what it worked. I went back and bought 2 more. Good thing is that if you do a sit-down lunch, get a glass of ice water and soat it while you eat ... voila, really does cool you down.

They are re-usable too ... just let dry out and the gel goes back to being flat.

You may want to go to a local WalMart as they are only about $2 each there. I believe they are in the sporting good or camping section.

ENJOY

The Walmart ones suck!! They ooze slime onto your skin, yuckky!!

But this site has the MiraCool Cooling Bandanas on sale along with MiraCool Wrist Support. Their prices are always good but right now they are having a Sale!!! Most are $3.50 to $4.50.

I'm going to order this hat and the wrist coolers and the neck cooler bandana!!

I bought ours at www.kooltie.com they were around $10. each. We tried the ones at Walmart but these(kool tie) are much better quality and stay cool a LONG time.

I bought mine in MK, the only place I can find in WDW. Not bad, not life-changing either. I didn't spend that much money (couple bucks), so I would recommend it. The problem is... it dries up too quickly. And I have to wet it constantly so it doesn't warm up. On the other hand, I used it in the midst of July, so anything would have warm up anyways.

We just got back and we used the ones from WalMart-YUCK!!! They reminded me of the gel that's in diapers once they get wet. They were oozing the gel onto our necks and it was just gross.

I saw them at Rice's Flea Market today in Bucks County for $5. They were soaking in a bucket and looked round and fat like a sausage. Do they flatten out when you put them around your neck? Do you wring them out first. ? Sorry to sound like a doofi (as my kids would say, that is a singular doofus!)

Yup, that's the kind. It turns into a sausage when you soak in water. And it'll flatten out when it's dry. Mine doesn't have any gel leak on me. I normally wrink them out just a little, but since it's so hot in the summer, I sometimes let it drip a bit.
