Has anyone tried T-Rex at DD?

Don't have a very little one. First time we at there was when it had just opened. DS was 9 and loved it!!! It was tamer than RFC IMO.

When ds was 4 we went to RFC and he was a little unnerved whenever there was a "storm" but he didn't flip out. Didn't go again until he was 6 and he liked the commotion that time around.

BTW at T-Rex it is a "meteor shower."

We took our 5 year old and 2 year old last year and they LOVED it.

We had them dig for bones in the sand pit out front first for a little bit then we got seated in the Ice Age room where we are in an ice cave and the colors of the walls change often. The dino's were neat.

My 5 year old LOVED it as he is obsessed with dinos. Our 2 year old little one liked it too, but mind you, she is VERY used to dino's since her brother is so into them!!
Some may be scared....depends on the kid.
It is very loud!

I have been there several times including opening day. We have seen some of the little ones screaming during the meteor show, and others who absolutely loved it. The atmosphere is great, especially if you love dinosaurs. The Build-A-Dino shop is really cool. My nephew loved it.

The food is okay, but can be a little pricey for families. I love the bruschetta appetizer, and the deserts are fantastic.:woohoo: When we go now, I have to have the bruschetta and the Ice Age Indulgence. Yummy, yummy, yummy!:yay:

We went last year and enjoyed it very much. My kids are teenagers though, so I can't answer the part about being too scary. I can tell you, I was pleasantly surprised with the food.

Can't comment on scary-levels for the little ones, but like PP i was pleasantly surprised with the food, it was delicious and such a choice!

I did find it a little bit on the pricey side however. Yet I suppose it is worth it with all the atmophere - service was super as well, which was nice as it was so busy when we were there (and you would have expected service to consequently be rushed / forgotten about! but not at all here!)

How young are your kids? We went last June and my girls were 6 so not too little. It can be abit scary for very little or kids that have issues with loud sounds. When we were there I did not see any younger kids upset. The food was justg ok IMO. But I think your going more for the Dino theme. My girls LOVED it. I thought it was cool but for me it is a been there done that place and I don't realy need to go back but was glad we did it once for the kids.:yay:

My son was 2 when we went and he loved it. He can't wait to return. DD was 5 and she really liked it too, but she REALLY enjoyed the Build a Dino. We thought the food was good and the portions were really big.

We went when our son was 2 and he was afraid of some of the dinosaurs because they make loud noises. I think it was the noise because he was not afraid of the characters at disney world so I think it depends on the age and the temperment as others have described.

I went last year on my family vaca in March. My niece (4) LOVED it. My other niece (21 months) was ok. My daughter (18 months) cried on cue every 15 minutes, the meteor shower scared her to death! Food was yummy...loved the waffle fries and onion rings. I believe I got a burger and it was pretty tasty too. We sat at the entrance where the BIG T-Rex is. Its what scared my daughter. I would point next to us where the fish were and it would usually get her mind off of the noise and calm her down. The rest of my family enjoyed it though! Just depends on the kid I guess!

with an 18 month old, a 3 yr old and a 6 yr old and none were "scared".
I will say that I thought it was a bit pricey for what you got--though our food was good. Personally, I detested the loudness of the place. But that's just me:goodvibes

We've been twice now and both times my youngest was a bit frightened by the loud dino noises. He was more upset the first time when he was about 15 mos. However, he did acclimate and did just fine (and ate well too.) We enjoyed the food and we especially enjoyed the drinks! Try one of their mojitos - pure awesomeness in a glass! :rotfl: We'll definitely be going back on our next trip as our DS9 absolutely LOVES the place!

I went with my almost 5 yr old dd and almost 2 yr old ds in Oct. and they both enjoyed it. The kids meals were fairly pricey but nice and big (the adult food is the same I guess :) ). My ds was a bit scared at first but after dh walked the kids around and showed them all the dinosaurs he was a happy little camper. We didn't have reservations and walked up around 4:30pm and got seated right away. When we left around 6pm there was a huge line and people were told you could not wait if you did not have a reservation.

We went with two girls aged 4 and 6. The whole family loved it, including the food. I can recommend the mushroom ravioli. I didn't see any kids frightened by the noise but it is loud so I can imagine it happens.

We ate there last July with our just turned 3 dd! She was a little taken aback at first:scared1:! but, she warmed up to it!:rotfl::rotfl: she loved the sand/dig area and did not want to leave!

Thanks for all the replies!

I was concerned about the big T-Rex, thanks to Land Before Time, the girls are scared of Sharp Tooths.

I have the ressie so hopefully they will enjoy it. It will be our destination lunch and then to Disney Quest afterward.

Twin 7 year old boys, lots of noise and action. Perfect for them. The food is okay but the wait staff is attentive. We were there in august and it was hot. The restaurant cooled us off. Definitely needed light covering.

The ice room was great but they didn't mind if the children experienced other rooms.
