We are seriously considering taking the Wyoming Western adventure. It sounds amazing and I know our kids would love it. It is a bit expensive (although kids are free this summer we must wait till next summer so we hope it will be offered again). Anyone try these trips??

It sounds great, I'd go if my boys were younger! Can't wait to hear all the reviews!

We are doing the London/Paris Adventure in August. I wish there was a separate forum for these tours. It would be nice to find some feedback from people who have taken them. I understand that the Canada and Western Adventures are all sold out for this year, so they must be quite nice.

Thanks for the update! We are seriously looking into this and I would also like to see a forum for these trips. Let us know how your Paris trip goes!

I just wish there was a forum to post trip info abt this!! what little info there is seems to be scattered among a # of forums. emailed moderators but never received a response re: add'l forum board about these tours.

We are going to be in Grand Teton and Yellowstone this summer on our own "tour" during the time one of the Adventures is thru there. Looks like our itinerary coincides when theirs a couple of days so I expect we'll run into the group more than once. I'll see if I can talk to some of the people on the tour and get some feedback. It IS very expensive doing it the "Disney way', I'd say at least 25% more than you can do it on your own for this particular trip (and that assumes you want to do all the activities they're doing). But having an only child, it would be nice for him to take this trip with other kids and have things to do with them in the evenings, so I understand some of the attraction.

I'm definitely interested in hearing more about this -- the overseas adventures especially look interesting, even though they do cost more than doing it yourself, but Disney is generally so GOOD at what they do that it seems like it would be worth it to let them deal with all the planning & details. Also, at the risk of sounding paranoid, you have to figure that if your kids get sick or something, Disney will do a great job of getting you doctors and such! At least half the times we've been to WDW, we've had to go to a doctor or urgent care, and Disney has been great at helping you get there, get meds, etc!

Send on the trip reports from these awesome adventures!

I'll have to say that even though Adventures by Disney is a bit more expensive than other tours, they are using premium resorts and hotels, and many of the tours out there don't cater to families like Disney's does. They really seem to focus on the whole family experience. BTW, they are also doing adult-only adventures on some dates, especially in Sept. So if you don't have kids or if you have older kids (18+) this is an option.

I looked at these tours, too. I was very excited about it, until I found out that once again - they are geared toward families with only 2 kids and we have 3. It is even worse than the cruise in that respect - at least on the cruise we have the option of paying a little more and getting the cat. 4 family cabin that fits 5. I called about these tours and there is no way to do it with 3 kids unless you pay for 2 rooms - paying full adult prices for the 2 kids in the other room - not to mention the fact that you would either have to let kids stay in a room by themselves (ours are too young for that) or spouses would have to stay in separate rooms! I was disappointed because it looked really awesome!

Well, we are 3 - grandma, daughter, granddaughter (age9).Pricewise, we were treated as a threesome and priced accordingly - still very expensive - about $9000 for a week (London/Paris) and that is with my annual pass discount they were offering in May!. But, I see the 'Disney' name ( and I like it); I see the 4/5* hotels and I like it; I see the chunnel transport in first class and I like it; I see the meals, the meet/greet - and I LIKE IT! I am sure it can be gotten for much less on your own, but I am not well versed in world travel, and being 67 years old I do not feel like schlepping suitcases around if I can avoid it - so I am willing to pay a premium. For 6 days prior to our ABD tour, we ARE going to Germany (on our own) and I can't tell you the hours I have spent on this!!!! ie. air travel, rooms, (meals haven't even been done yet); sight seeing attractions; rail passes/choices. Man, whoever designes these tours for Disney is worth every dime!

. . . We are doing the London/Paris Adventure in August . . .

1) We do London/Paris every-other-year.
2) This is one of the years.
3) It would be nice to read your trip report and see how it compares.

We are definitely considering the London / Paris trip for June of 2007. Right now we're waiting for Ppiew's trip report when she returns. (Hi, ppiew  ) But if things seem positive, we'll probably be booking. For overseas travel, it seems like a can't miss proposition for families.

I'm not sure about in US travel. I've spent a LOT of time traveling in the Yellowstone area, and it's really an easy area to plan for. (Staying in the park is fairly easy to arrange for. There are hundreds of wonderful dude ranches nearby. Hundreds of places to white water raft and trail ride. Anyway, it's very easy to book travel in the area. On the other hand, it's sometimes nice to let someone else do it for you. ABD might be nice. (I know there are LOTS of people who would tell me that it's easy to plan a trip to London and Paris, too. ;) )

What is the Disney Adventure? Never heard of this. Does anyone have a link? thanks

Here is the link http://abd.disney.go.com/abd/en_US/index

It is a series of week long tours that include Italy, London/Paris, Costa Rica, Canadian Rockies, Wyoming, Hawaii, Costa Rica. No theme parks, but a first class 'Disney' experience of travel. Take a look at the website - explains a lot more.
