Has anyone taken the ART shuttle from HoJo's to DL or vice versa?

When you are leaving HoJo's are you the first or the last pickup stop? Same for when you are leaving DL.....is the HoJo's the first to be dropped off or the last? I am praying that it is the first!!! (Oh my aching feet!)

I'm interested in the answer too :) seeing as I will be 29 weeks pregnant when we go in May... :goodvibes

hello! Anyone out there...somebody? I don't think we will do the ART thing since the hotel is relatively close but just in case......

Kathy (again)

I researched this. When you are going to the parks, you are the first to be dropped off, when you leave the parks, you are the last to be dropped off, and that takes about 30 minutes. The good part is that when you leave the parks, one of the stops is near Gardenwalk and all the great restaurants, so you could plan a nice little dinner break.

I did not use the ART though. Found the walk to be quite doable, even with a very tired 6 year old who we gave piggy backs to after 12 hours in the park, even on day 7 he was able to make it back to the hotel, although he did fall asleep in the middle of dinner at Mimi's.

You can grab a taxi back for about $10 at the end of the day, but my hubby is too cheap for that. Other people send the strong ones to get the car and pick the others up.

They must have changed this...when we used ART in 2005 HoJo was the first pick-up. We wasted most of our MM by waiting on the ART. After our stop it went to two more hotels. At each hotel it SAT AND WAITED! Yes, I'm yelling! My thought is: have your fanny at the stop on time or get left behind! Don't hold up other guests so grandpa can find his neckerchief or mummy can finishing packing up the stoller! (Yes those were real issues. Yes, I had a stroller that trip, too. We all have issues- I just didn't inconvenience anyone with mine!)

I'm still on the fence about getting ART passes this time. I'd jump right on over if they offered something like a 6-ride pass instead of doing it by days.

If they've made HoJo the last pick-up I would be much more likely to buy the passes. After all, how long can it take to drive down Harbor???

ok so it takes long to get home but its quick to get there.
what time dose art start?

You can find info about ART at rideart.org
The web site said it ran from 8:00 am to midnight but I would think it would be earlier/later to accomodate DL goers!

The only problem with HoJo's being the last stop before DL is that the shuttle will probably be filled to capacity by then......hmmm. I wish it was the first stop on the way home at the end of the day when you feel too exhausted to walk another step. Oh well. At least it's an option.

Thanks again,

Kathy

When we were there at Disneyland in Decemeber of '08 we stayed at the Peacock Suites which was the first pick up with HoJo's being the last on the way to Disneyland. Riding at peak times like the morning when it opens and night when it closes that bus got way crowded. It was squished room only. Meaning that even had a gentleman wanted to give up a seat for a lady, elderly person ect if they didn't stop right in front of them on the bus it wouldn't happen because we were to squished to manuveer. I was really surprised how many people they jammed on at peak times. I would just walk from HoJo's.

Seriously... HoJo is technically closer than Paradise Pier and even than many of the DLH rooms. See this Mouseplanet article, "How Far is It?" which also shows links to a g-map pedometer showing the routes: http://www.mouseplanet.com/7280/How_Far_Is_It You can see the shortcut route from HoJo on their link.

It's not that far of a walk. :thumbsup2 I'd certainly rather do that than wait for ART. The sight of the ART buses at park closing times was hair-raising :scared1: Thousands of people crammed on the sidewalks and waiting for their shuttles... while we strolled past them all and up one block to HoJo within 7 minutes.

I actually took it from HoJo's to DL this weekend. It drove directly across the street. It took no time at all. Now for the opposite, I am not sure. This thread makes me think of a podcast idea I had. My son and I plan on taking ART around to all the hotels and points of interest to see how well it really works. I'll let you know what I find out.
