Has anyone taken advantage of the great DLH point deals?

The point requirements on rooms at the Disneyland Hotel have been dramatically reduced. Have any of you taken advantage of this change to make reservations? How many points did you save? When are you going? Did anyone have trouble getting a ressy because of increased demand?

I would LOVE to take advantage of this to go during fall break (Oct). We are waiting, however to see if dh gets transferred in July. If not, we will try to book.

I hope it is not too difficult to get in there (if so, I guess we will be "forced" to stay at GC...darn!!!! )

I was able to get 2 nights July 18 and 19 for 29 points a night for a SV room when they first dropped the amount of points. I wanted the 16 and 17 also but couldn't get them. I think it is 10 points per night less that before but am not 100% certain about that. Am going to call back and see if there has been any change in availablity but won't hold my breath as those days are the actual anniversary ones and I imagine there is nothing anywhere. It's worth a quick call though. I could have had the 20th but we are headed to San Diego that day so availability will probably depend on just when you are planning to go.

i was just thinking about this for easter/spring break, i will be calling ms this afternoon just to get the points rate per night. have they changed it on the dvc website

If they were to offer the 1 and 2 bedroom suites there I would be interested... I have the Artisan's 1 bedroom suite at the GC booked for August 14th-17 or 18th (I forget at the moment) and I did consider switching over to DLH when the points dropped, but I am spoiled.... I like my space... PLUS since it is a trip for just me and my girls (6 and 4) I think the location of GC will work better for us...

But then again, I am still considering a switch.

When some of our invited guests in January backed out of our upcoming BWV trip, we cancelled one of the studios we had booked and used the points for the DLH in October for our anniversary.

We were pleasantly surprised when Member Services contacted us last month and told us that our DLH reservation was now only going to use 92 pts, instead of 124. Plus the extra points were put back as DVC points, not reservation points. So we can bank them if needed. Sweet deal for us; can’t wait to go.
