Has anyone switched from Microsoft to a Mac?

And were you happy with your decison? We just got our dd10 a Mac Mini, and I love the tiny size and sleek design. However I don't have the slightest clue how to use it yet! My dh is considering replacing our computer with a Mac. Any opinions?

We have a Mac OS X version 10.3.9. I love it 'cause it rarely crashes and is virtually immune from viruses. My DD is frustrated with it 'cause she can't play VMK (yet--understand they're working on a Mac version.) She also can't play some of her favorite computer games--SIMS, Zoo Tycoon. So we've actually talked about buying a cheap PC for her and her brother to use.
My DH was thrilled when GoogleEarth finally came out for the Mac.
I used to teach Intro to the Mac at a local Community College--about 15 years ago. Then we switched to PCs and I totally forgot how to use the Mac. I had to retrain myself, so I know what you mean about not knowing how to use it!
Definitely pluses and minuses to it, but overall I'm very happy to have it now. :sunny:

I went back to Mac in Jan. I used one in college but it had been maybe 6 or 7 years since I touched one.

I love it. It is perfect for my computing needs. I don't do a lot of document sharing. I haven't had any real compatibility problems.

The ones I've noticed are VMK and some of the MSN stuff that requires Internet Explorer. In all honesty I haven't missed either.

DisneyDotty - there is a Mac SIMS version. But we did get a cheap PC for DS. He is turning 5 and had a lot of "educational" games. Of course it just took me several tries to boot up his machine so if it dies, he'll get my iMac and I'm getting a MacBookPro.

Sure did and never looked back. The integrated tabbed browsing, the shortcuts are actually easy to remember. You want to save something, try the apple icon key and S, wow, how easy! A lot of the short cuts are really that simple. Never crashes, it's beautiful to look at and quite fast even for being 2 years old.

DF bought an iMac for school (graphic design) and has brought me over the dark side! I recently switched from a Dell Inspiron to a Mac Powerbook G4 (Mac OSX 10.4.6, i think). I absolutely love it and wouldn't want to go back to a PC.

I started out using Macs years ago. I'm going to switch back when I get ready to buy a laptop. They are so much more user friendly. The biggest downside to me is the cost.

I had a mac years ago and wouldn't go back to it now that I have had PC's....it is just not as user friendly in my opinion as a PC.
