has anyone stayed two weeks??

I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed for two weeks in WDW?? I have been going crazy planning my family vacation. We are planning a surprise for my kids. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for me..thanks masigns4u

P.S. we were thinking about doing 7 land/sea or just plan two weeks in disney..thanks again

We had an awesome 15 day trip a few years ago - very relaxing, as we had plenty of time to do verything we wanted to do, twice, in most cases! If you do decide to do it all at WDW, consider staying at more than one resort - we love split stays now!

You might consider how old your children are.....dd was ready to come home sooner than we were coming home - she adapted just fine and wasn't upset that we didn't go home as soon as she said she wanted to. But I think part of it was just her age. When she's older I'd really like to try a 2 week trip. We were there 11 days this time and probably around day 7 or 8 she started saying she wanted to go home - of course it didn't help that she got sick too.

Our first trip (this past March / April) was just shy of two weeks (11 days, I think). Our next trip (which we started conceiving before we left the first time) will be two full weeks. And I'm secretly plotting a third trip in Feb or early March because we upgraded our park hoppers the first trip to AP's! (shhh - don't tell the wife about my plot)...

We've done a couple of 12 day trips, and by the end we're saying 10 days is enough -- usually because we have still tried to pack too much into every day. I love fireworks and it's hard to get wound down and go to sleep without it being really late at night -- then ya gotta get going the next day! I'd love to do a more leisurely 2-week trip -- I know I wouldn't be bored, and I'd be much less tired.

We went for 15 days with our son who was 1.5 at the time and I was pregnant. Is was a nice trip- no pressure because there was plenty of time. It was nice to enjoy the pools. I also agree that it is nice to split your time between resorts. We usually do the BCV and the Contemporary.

We will be going in December for 21 days. We have all the dining reservations done. Other than that, we are doing two seperate resorts. The rest of the time is just soaking it all in. We are having to work around my DH's running schedule. He has to get in so many miles a day. I have most of our planning exact from Dec 23rd- Dec 26th, then on New Years Eve, and on January 7th for Race Day. We have done this numerous times, if you need help let me know. I just planned trips for four families who are just wrapping up their trip now.

HI! I promise, cruz91 I won't tell your wife about your plot but that sounds great! Krissylynne, thanks I will keep in touch if I need help. I forgot to put my kids ages are l5 and l2. So I don't think they will have a problem of playing in the sun in Florida. Also, We just talked with one of our cousins and she is now planning a cousins get together in WDW. OH BOY! Can you imagine 15 kids from the age of l5 to l and 10 adults together So I don't know what the world we are going to do know. I don't know if this is going to be a fun trip. You know how your relatives can be they are ok around the holidays but to go on vacation for 7 days with them, I don't know I will fill guilty if we don't go with them, but since it will be our first time going and we want to see everything. I have no clue what to do. masigns4u

Trust me!!! Don't try to do Disney the first time with a large group of family members that you are not used to traveling with... it will be stressful and a lot of work and you will miss the "Just us" time.

Your right Julie, I am trying to tell my husband that I don't think we will be able to do and see things we want to see and really I don't want our family to try and miss anything even though my kids are l5 and l2 but still are kids in my eyes. I figured we will be on some sort of schedule for all they younger kids eating wise and other things. My husband was thinking of us doing the 3 day cruise and than catch up with them when we return... (but shhhhhh, its his relatives) oh, well we will see what happens, masigns4u (Gina)

I want this to be special for our family because my son is getting a cochlear implant after Christmas and I want this to be a special time for our family (we are surprising the kids)

Thanks! I should leave the relatives (but you know how italian families are) Your not a dork for crying, I do that too when reading some of these wishes. My sons friend, who just pasted away last month, went to disney from Make a Wish Foundation. (He had many heart problems-since he was a baby and he was deaf also.) You know sometimes you think you have problems with your children and then you look at someone going through than you count your blessings. We made a donation in his name for Make A Wish Foundation. Even though I am a mother of two deaf children, (well I can say my son is almost adult, he will always be my little boy) I still count my blessings because I have seen in my sons program what other mothers have gone through with there children.
So why not go to the happiest place on earth and forget all your problems!!

We try to do the two week thing when we visit Disney. It is not too long...I could stay longer We use the vacation for R&R as the resorts are awesome for just hanging out. On the days we want to do something there are tons of things to do.

We did 2 weeks last summer. We were not in the parks every day though. We had a few days that were not park days. The day we arrived we went to DTD. One day we went to Daytona and another day or two we just bummed around the resorts, went sight seeing and played in the pool. It made for a rather relaxing vacation.

We did 10 days last summer and will be doing 10 days again summer of 2007. It's nice. You don't feel as rushed to go everywhere. I wish I could go every year for that long.

Our trip next year will be 2 weeks. We'll be in a 3 bedroom condo offsite though, so it'll be very comfortable, and we won't be at the parks every day. We'll also be able to do mostly half days in the parks b/c there will be no time pressure to do everything!

Our trip last spring was 2 full weeks. You definitely won't be bored because there's more than enough to do. It was more laid back than our first trip of 10 days, but we still tried to do too much. We spent 7 days in the disney parks, 3 days at Universal, and 1 day going to see the King Tut exhibit in Ft. Lauderdale. The other reason it was a little too much was because my mom and sister were there with us for the first week. Because they had never been, we did full open to close theme park days with them.

By the last few days, it was actually our 11 and 8 yr olds that were starting to get grumpy and emotional. Our 5 and 2 yr olds were great.

So I don't think 2 weeks is too long, but I do think you need to take advantage of having that much time by relaxing and not tiring yourself out too much. Try not to plan your days so that you don't have early mornings following late nights. The way I would do it is to either do partial days at the parks, or have each full day at a park followed by a day when you can sleep in and do something more relaxing.

I'm hoping to do 2 weeks the end of August. I have 3 kids 1.5 4 and 8. I hope to use our Marriott timeshare one week and enjoy the pool, activities and probably Universal one day.Then a week in WDW. 7 days just is never enough, esp if you want to enjoy time at the resort and time DTD and shopping, water parks.I'm already looking forward to 2 weeks in Orlando and nothing is even final. LOL!

We are going for two weeks this December My kids are 17, 13, 6 and 3. We plan on going to the parks all but our arrive and departure days. But if someone needs a break we can take one since we will be there for so long. We are all so excited! Well, the 17 year old doesn't act very excited but I think deep down he is We are going to Universal/IOA for two days just for him.
