Hi....I just got my DOCS today, and I had a Gty cat 12 room. Now

shows that I am in a cat 10 stateroom number 1069 on deck 1....

has anyone stayed in this room before....how is it....I am traveling

with my Dh and two children aged 5 and 6....Also.....I am thinking

ordering ahead the Happy Birthday stateroom celebration has

anyone done this? Any opinions.....thanks:wave2:

Can't tell you about the stateroom........

But as far as the Happy Birthday Celebration, don't waste you money with DCL. It's cute but not worth the $30.00. You are better off going to the Dollar Store before hand and pick up a few things and then decorate yourself.

Or if you really want a nice surprise upon getting to the cabin, ask Shirley to put together a nice basket!

We stayed in 1048 in March and really liked Deck 1. There was little hall traffic to contend with. We were only two floors away from a lot of the action - a short walk up two flights of stairs. And we were first back to our staterooms when coming back to the ship while it is in port. We would not hesitate to stay on Deck 1 again.

dcltribute.com and Barb's site will have lots of info on the stateroom for you. Although it will be very convenient for getting off in port.

I recommend Shirley as well over DCL stuff.

theperfectgift.com is her site. Do a search for Shirley or Perfect Gift on these boards and you will find plenty of info on the product and service she provides. Everyone raves. Have a great trip.

Thanks so much for your help. We are so excited...this is our first

cruise...We are doing the land/sea pkg.....i can't wait...thanks

again

Which ship/cruise are you on? We had category 12 GTY and were upgraded to 1067 which is the connecting room to yours (I wanted yours...see my screen name...1069 is my number!!). We are sailing on the Magic on November 13th. (No docs yet...just found out online on Friday).

I think it's going to be better than a 12....it's a lower deck but also midship (better for seasickness) and it's bigger (30 sq. ft) and has the split bath. Some say the connecting rooms are louder. My mom and I aren't rowdy so 1069 isn't likely to be complaining about us!!

I thought Deck 1 was only used for tendering. Is that not correct? On our cruise, we dock in each port so easy access to tendering isn't all that relevant. Maybe I got it wrong...anxious to hear.

We set sail on 11/4 on the wonder. Are both ships configured

same......We are just so excited. We have been planning this trip

for almost 2 years...I can't believe that it's finally here.....

We were in 1074/1076 on the 3 day Wonder in June '04. Ditto on the quiet hallways and coming back onboard at Nassau & Castaway Cay; very easy to just go up one flight of stairs and back down the other while we watched everyone else wait for elevators.

The only noise I would say was some vibration, but it's not loud and didn't bother anyone in my party.

We liked our rooms a whole lot and wouldn't hesitate to stay "down there" again.
