has anyone stayed in the holiday inn at gatwick or the crowne plaza?

what are they like?
apparently at the holiday inn, theres "club" rooms with complimentary drinks, anyone know if its booze or just soft drinks?
is the hotel any good?

also whats the crowne plaza like? it looks nice, and there's a club lounge you can upgrade to. has anyone been there? how far is it from the airport? we're not driving so will rely on buses/hotel shuttles, and need to be at the airport by 6am

We stayed in Holiday inn at Gatwick two weeks ago before our flight out.

It was clean and comfitable.

The price I was quoted did not include breakfast or the transfers to the airport and they added another days parking when I arrived at reception as they said it was an extra day over the 15 days as travelled overnight.

Not sure about club rooms.

Not far from the airport at all and they provide a shuttle think its 24 hours, but check in case I am wrong.

we stayed at the Holiday Inn about 5 years ago, very clean, nice big room, food was okay, couldnt complain at all.

We've stayed at the Crowne Plaza last summer, everything was fine, lovely room, good breakfast. There was actually a lot of work going on at the hotel, getting a complete refurb, but no noise or anything from it. Would stay there again.

Don't know how their transfer to airport are, we stayed there for a wedding in the area, not to fly out the next morning.
