Hi - trying to finalize where I should stay. We are looking for a 3 or 4 bedroom pool home August 1 - 7th.

I have an option in the Indian Ridge Community. Does anyone know if this is a nice community. They claim it is very close to the theme parks. Sorry not from FL so I don't know the area.

Thanks for the help.

p.s. I don't know if I can ask this but do vacation home owners visit this site & advertise or is that a No-No. You can PM me if so.

Indian Ridge is a nice neighborhood, and very close to the parks. I am friends and work with the President of their HOA. Their HOA President is helping me with the HOA in Indian Creek. I don't think you would be disappointed at all.

I live in Indian Ridge. It's a very family friendly neighborhood with the local ice cream truck making it's rounds nightly!

Hi Mom of Two...we live in Indian Ridge, too...well almost...we stay 3 winter months on Jodi Ridge Court...Love it there...
We love the real neighborhood feel with kids, dogs, and school buses! The ice cream truck is indeed part of the neighborhood....sometimes I wish he would get a new song!!!

To Jcrew, these homes are a little older and not quite as fancy as some of the very new neighborhoods, but we love the large lots, the door from the master bath to the pool, and the easy trip to Disney...

To get to Disney, I think it is just as quick to take Old Lake Wilson to 192 and turn right about 2 miles to Disney entrance on right. I think that is faster than taking Sherberth shortcut to get into Disney...not sure if Mom of Two would agree.

Now to get out of Disney, however, I think Sherberth can be quicker...From anywhere in the parks, follow the signs to ANIMAL KINGDOM. There are a couple of quick right turns so stay heads up. Now, as you approach Animal Kingdom a big sign will tell you to stay left for Animal Kingdom LODGE. Stay left until you get to a stoplight and turn left on SHERBERTH RD. Twist and Turn a little and follow road back to Hwy 192...stay in right lane and go straight through 192 and follow the road down to the end at the entrance to Westgate Villas...go around a little circle and head straight east about 200 yards and turn right on Old Lake Wilson and you will be back at Indian Ridge in about 2 miles...very slick and you miss all the traffic on 192 or even Interstate 4 they direct you there from Disney to get to 192...

Mom of Two, I'll bet we saw you little ones out waiting for the bus in the morning!!

Enjoy...

Ted

Hi Ted!

Jodi is right around the corner from me, nice street.
My oldest gets the bus at Jennie/IRT, my youngest at Marne/IRT...I drive the youngest to the bus stop cause I'm in my jammies! shhhh! don't tell the neighbors ;)
I agree with Ted on the directions to WDW. If I'm going to AK I do use Sherberth but mostly the route from WDW to 192 is fast enough. The only difference I have to Ted's directions is when you leave Sherberth Rd and have crossed over 192 make your first LEFT at the 4 way intersection at the Westgate signage. You don't have a stop but cross traffic does. Take this to the stop sign--turn RIGHT(Pondersosa on LEFT). At the stop sign turn RIGHT onto Old Lake Wilson Rd. Everything else is the way Ted described it.

p.s. Ted....we got a new ice cream truck with an all new SONG!!!!

Thanks for the input on the trip home from Disney...can't wait to hear the new song!!!
Also can't wait to get back next January...I work at Mystic Dunes as a starter a couple of days a week and Von works in Panchero's gift shop at Coronado Springs a day or two a week...we just have so much fun!

Have a great summer, stay cool!! and I hope you get some good rain soon...

Ted

Hidden Ridge Community is pleasent and the neighbours are very friendly.

we stayed in this community during our 2 weeks family reunion last year.

we have booked side by side villas from the website springvacationrentals.com

we have enjoyed our stay.

I haven't heard of Hidden Ridge, where is that located? Indian Ridge is very close to AK

momof2: I read somewhere that there were traffic problems near Indian Creek due to a new highway being constructed near there. I'm looking for a house to stay next spring, and one of my choices was Indian Creek, but I'm worried about this. Is this true?

the hwy (429) has been completed. Traffic isn't really an issue around Indian Creek, it's a residential area and the hwy runs parallel

Amen to that Mom of 2 post...If there is one area that has the least traffic hassles in and out of the Disney area it is the homes off Old Lake Wilson and Formosa Gardens Blvd where Indian Ridge and Indian Creek are located...enjoy...Ted

Our names are on a badge...keep an eye out next year...in fact, and I am serious, I will pm you my cell phone I use in florida and it you get down in Jan, Feb, or March, I would love to have you be my guest for a round at Mystic Dunes...you just have to play with me!!!

Hey Ted,

I have friends who live over at the Oaks and their property backs up to the 2nd green.

Gotta go hit the garage, we have our community yard sale this weekend. There is usually a pretty good turnout.

Hey sounds great! I'm not that great though, I shot about a 99 at Mystic Dunes, just so you know! hehe Biggest sand traps I've EVER seen, you could sell towels and call it the "beach"!

We actually complained to one of the rangers, doubt it was you though (young guy). The darn time share tour people (there were tons of them) kept walking around the greens and they were talking SO loudly it was very distracting...VERY annoying (and totally improper) on a course like that...especially when you've paid $165 for a round (and I missed a birdie putt due to it too..grrr...!).

AND THIS IS OUR BEAUTIFUL GOLF COURSE!! We kept saying "SHHH!! It's a golf course...QUIET!!" and some rude guy started yelling at us... LOL

Interesting..those sales folks are not allowed on the course...must have snuck on or had some fat cat ready to buy at top dollar...

Hi Mom...I'll bet they find a good share of golf balls in the back yard...No. 2 is the longest par four in America, I think, so lots of folks hitting long long shots into the green...that means lots of big fades or slices right at your friends back yard...

We LOVE the neighborhood garage sales that we can catch in the winter...sorry we missed yours...Ted
