Has anyone stayed at this off-site resort?

Can anyone please give me some information about the Liki Tiki resort(ron jon resort orlando). I have heard it has a huge water park? How are the villas? This is the first time we are staying off-site from disney. :earsgirl:

The villas are 20 some years old, and quite run down. The high rises are newer and much nicer, try to get into one of those. The water park is great for all ages with fountains, slides, and a huge hot tub.

Stayed there two years ago and it was traumatic. It was run down and dirty. I know they have a newer section but I think that is reserved for owners. It was not just the Villas that were disgusting the lobby, was unclean there was dust everywhere and tons of finger prints on the fish tank. I know this is a small thing but the dusty items in the display case as well as the dead bugs turned me off. It is not a HUGE water park. It is a rather small one. AS for the rooms we were in my son was in a urine stained pull out there were no screens on the balcony holes in the bathroom walls.

I know others have said it was great but maybe they were in different sections. As for me I wrote them a letter telling them I would not come back even if it were free. OH and by the way do not take the timeshare tour. A less professional group of people I hve never encountered. AS to Tripadvisor...well I do not find tham all that reliable. If you look at a bad review then there are like 3 glowing reviews to follow and somehow I just feel that it is the management of these places doing damage control.
