Has anyone stayed at these resorts?

I am going to Orlando April 6-12. I have a timeshare that I can use, but trying to decide where I should stay. Currently the only openings during that time are:
Celebrity Resorts, Lake Buena Vista--no kitchen available
Westgate Lakes Resort, Orlando
Celebrity Resorts, Orlando-Spas--no kitchen available
Westgate Vacation Villas
Westgate Town Center
Westgate Towers
I'm leaning more towards the Westgate vacation villas, but just wanted to get some input

I just went down the Westgate road so I've done lots of research. You'll hear for the most part, that the Mgmt is terrible and they are very high pressure.

The resorts are nice, the only negatives I've heard are ironically on the Vacation Villas. There are a few that have had lousy accomodations there. Though, they are closer to Disney.

I was going to do the Lakes, which seemed absolutely beautiful and got the best reviews. I've never stayed in any of them, but many have. If you do a search, you'll see lots of info on people who have answered my questions last week.

I also posted on the Tug board and got lots of good info there.

Good luck,
Jenn

I have stayed at westgate lakes resort twice and it was really nice, we had a two bedroom. My kids really liked it, I have never stayed at any of the others.

Thanks so much for your replies. I'll continue to do a little more research before I book:) :cool1:

most of the time the ones with no kitchen - are basically studios - not a 1-bedroom - II and RCI should really require a full kitchen to be considered a one-bedroom.

We stayed at the WGV last year, it was very busy and had an almost 'city' feel to it. A small kid even got run over by one of the hundreds of golf carts that fly thru the place. High pressure, we didn't!

Good luck. :moped:

Just my 2 cents..but we were just at the westgate villas for a few days staying with my sister and I thought the place was very outdated and not very clean. If you are used to staying in nice places you'll be very disappointed. The shower didn't even work in the master bath. And yes like the above poster mentioned there are golf carts flying around like crazy. They are all carrying unsuspecting people to so called "maintenance meetings" where they proceed to brow beat you into a timeshare purchase. I've heard the lakes and town centre are much nicer I would definetly choose one of those instead! Good Luck and enjoy your vacation. :bitelip:

well, I decided to stay at the Westgate Town Center, we will be there two days before check in so, from that we will be staying at the Holiday Inn Nikki Bird (great price on hotwire), but also have just started reading the reviews of that place :guilty:
I hope everything works out. My friend that is going with me just broke up with her boyfriend and really needs a nice vacation to relax, I'm hoping that our hotel and timeshare will be ok!
Thanks for the help!

Have a great time, keep your friend busy and enjoy the lovely weather. Let us know how it went. I've heard the Town Centre is a great choice (better than the villas!). :cool1:

Thanks, I will :sunny:

FYI Town Center and the Villas are the same place, it is all on the same grounds, it is simply another phase of development with a different name. Both parts of the resort are nice and have lots of pools and activities. There are always a number of units due for remodeling in these kind of mega-resorts, so occasionally someone gets a unit that is a bit worn and needs updating. That does not mean the resort is a bad place. On the whole, from what I have seen, all the units are nicely decorated and attractive but the Town Center are newer, so chances of a fresher looking unit is better.
