Hi all! We just booked a room only reservation for the Yacht Club today. I had called about getting a room at the POR and they tell me it's booked for the days I wanted to stay but that they can give me the YC for $199 a night. I would love to know if this is a nice place to stay, anyone's opinion about it and did I get a good deal.

Thanks a bunch!

The very first time we stayed onsite was at the YC. It is the best. SALB is my kids favorite. When they were younger they loved the zero depth, as they go older it was the deeper section and the slide. Once we stayed there, we knew we would never stay offsite again!! :cool1: :cool1:

Amyzoo, $199 a night for the YC is great! We stayed there in Feb. at that price with the AP discount. It was a standard room, but we were upgraded to lagoon view at no charge. The resort is wonderful. Ver convenient for EPCOT and MGM. My husband would definitely stay there agian if it had monorail access. Other than that it's wonderful.

Thanks for the info. We haven't told the kids yet just in case something comes up. I am so excited myself!

It's beautiful. The rooms are very thoughtfully decorated - a full 4 drawer chest of drawers, 2 lights - dimmers - above each bed. Lovely grounds. Close to Boardwalk. 5 min. walk to Epcot. Short boat ride to MGM. Beaches 'n Cream. Just a wonderful place.

You'll love it and $199/nt is a great rate! The hotel is lovely and the grounds are gorgeous! It's so convenient to Epcot and MGM and to the Boardwalk. There are tons of restaurants within walking distant too. The pool is the best on property and I really think you'll love this resort. We're going back for the fourth July in a row! :goodvibes

Wow, what are your travel dates? I'm going in October and I'd like to try to get that rate at the Yacht Club too!

Was that an AP rate you got? Have reservations for Aug. AAA rate higher than $199.

We are going July 16. I had previously called the reservation center a couple of times looking for availability at the PO-R. They didn't have anything there but the operator tells me that he has a special offer that has "popped up" on his screen. He told me about the $199 offer and we decided to book it. I have always wanted to stay at the CR but I don't know if they offer it any cheaper. I'm not complaining! The pictures that I have seen of the YC are very nice. And it will accomodate 2 adults and 3 children. I wish that WDW would open a Value Resort to accomodate families of 5-6.

We had a standard view room at the YC and we overlooked the wedding chapel. It was very nice! You'll love the location! Have a great trip.

It wasn't an AP rate. It just happened that a special rate appeared on screen. I have read about this and that it just happens out of the blue. I don't think that the operators (CMs) even know when it will happen. I also read somewhere about asking for room-only reservations and that you can ask for the "rack-rates". Other than that, I guess that we just lucked out! Hopefully the same will happen to those who are looking for a great rate!

Thats a great rate!!! I am staying at that same time and Im paying 244.00 a night!!!

Sounds like you got a wonderful rate! :sunny: We stayed there for 3 nights this past December and we loved it! SAB is a favorite of our girls. Enjoy! :wizard:

Great family picture!

The more I think about the trip, the more excited I get! I am such a kid at heart when it comes to WDW. My husband, on the other hand, does not get half as excited about WDW as I do. How can you not????

Has anyone had the character dining at the YC?

We've been to the character breakfast at the Cape May Cafe (actually at the BC) and it is our favorite of all the character meals we've been to so far at WDW. It is not always crowded which allows for more character interaction and the food is great! The characters that I remember seeing were Minnie, Goofy, & Chip & Dale.

Amyz00 --

You and your family will LOVE the YC/BC resort area!! We are staying at the YC July 20 - 24th and CAN'T WAIT. Stormalong Bay is the BEST -- this is my husband's favorite resort. The combination of the AMAZING pool area and close proximity to EP and MGM - plus the dining options of the Boardwalk and the resorts make it an incredible location. You can even catch the EP monorail from MK and go back to the YC -- if you wish to walk through EP. Saves waiting in lines for buses. We stayed at the Beach Club two years ago - had a wonderful time. The YC/BC are basically the same hotels -- very similar -- just different in theming. They share SAB, restaurants, etc. They have a great little ice cream shop (Beaches and Cream) that serves yummy ice cream desserts, hamburgers, etc. The rooms are large and really nice. The resort area is great to enjoy - especially when it cools off in the evening -- to walk around the Boardwalk area is soooo nice. My kids were younger during our last visit to BC/YC - now they are 8 and 5. My younger one will remember this trip. My kids are psyched!! We were at WDW in May (Pop Century) and had dinner at the BW and walked along YC/BC area. We are soooooo excited about our stay there in 19 days!!! (Yay!!) This time, we are taking my mom, niece (9) and nephew (7) so we had to have two rooms. My niece and nephew are going to be so surprised -- they've never stayed at a Disney Deluxe property before and they LOVE to swim. Expensive, true -- BUT, both worth every penny -- especially during the HOT summer when you HAVE to take a swimming break mid-day to keep having a good time w/o heat stroke! YC/BC has the BEST swimming pool area on Disney property. If you can afford it, definitely keep your reservation here -- if you cancel, you WILL NOT be able to get that rate back. I've had that deal before. I promise -- you will not be disappointed! Search on this Resorts board for the Beach Club/Yacht Club Info. thread -- you will find terrific information there. I believe I saw it above your post. Also, www.allearsnet.com can provide good info. on the YC -- and Disney overall. You can see menus for the Boardwalk area restaurants, etc. Do your research on the Boardwalk area so that you will be aware of the dining options, etc. ESPN Club and Big River Brewing Co. at the Boardwalk are great places to eat. Have a wonderful time!!! Feel free to ask any questions -- happy to help if I can........

Wow! Thanks for the info. The YC sounds and looks heavenly!!! I can't wait. I want to tell the kids so badly but we want to suprise them! Let's just hope it doesn't rain the whole time we are there.
