Has anyone stayed at the Camelot recently?

Any thoughts? Cleanliness? Renovation of the rooms etc?

We are familiar with the property, stayed there 3 times years back. Love the size of the family suite.

I'm faced with a hotel decision by tomorrow morning. Must cancel one or the other.
Currently my two options are the Homewood Suites or the Camelot for a group of 5. My husband & I and our 3- 20 something kids.

The Camelot was my first choice back in Sept but I couldn't get our Nov 11-15 dates so I booked Homewood. Looks like the pool area there is nicer and there's breakfast. But of course it's all location, location, location in this decision. Looks like no breakfast or house keeping at the Camelot. More beds in the Camelot room.

We will arrive Thurs Nov 11 about 9:30 in SNA and plan to go right to DL. We have all day Fri and Sat and then a good share of the day Sun. One daughter will leave about 3 pm for flight to Boise and the rest of us about 7 pm for late flight. If that matters on your thoughts- lol! Thanks!

We stayed at the Camelot in August for the first time and we really liked it there (we always stay on Harbor for location!). It was clean and had a ton of storage. Every day they replaced our towels and emptied the garbage, so it is better than most hotels for housekeeping.

For me location is priority and is much closer. If pool and breakfast is more important than location , then might be better to switch.

I should mention that I struggle with Achilles tendinitis so taking a break close by is more important to me as I rarely eat breakfast anyway and rather be at rope drop , midday break and come back. It all comes down to space for your family and how your touring style is.

You don't mention what room category you have at the Homewood Suites, but since you said the Camelot has more beds, I assume at Homewood Suites its the two queen, one bedroom suite and not the king/bunk suite, which means you'd have an adult sleeping on a sofabed. My kids are only 11 and 13, but when it comes to hotel/motel preferences, they will take the worst motel bed over the best hotel sofabed any day of the week, especially for a 3-night stay. For that reason alone I'd go for the Camelot. With McD's, Panera, and Mimi's next door, I wouldn't worry about not having breakfast.

Normally I would discount the pool for a November stay, but since it's going to be in the 90s on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and it's likely to be crowded in the park, a pool break would be a nice option.

What do your kids think?

We go with Camelot. Generally the reviews I read are ok recently.
Not so worried about breakfast... because yes, we like to go early plus I will pack snacks and we will do a quick grocery stop w/Lansky.

It is much warmer than expected, for sure. Unless we taken a bit longer trip and had a day "off" - just hang hotel day we've not used the pools a ton since most of them aren't open very late. But yes, a mid day break is good....

This suite does give everyone the option of a real bed which is ideal give that we are all grown ups now - lol If my daughters don't want to share, then one can take the pull out. We've always liked the large counter that's outside the tub/shower room at the Camelot and you just can't beat the location.

I was going to pipe in that my younger son who normally never complains about beds slept on the sofa bed at homewood and hated it. It was pretty terrible and the entire room was worn out and in need of a refresh. We are staying at Camelot in a couple weeks. I’m excited!
