Has anyone stayed at Dolphins Cove Resort?

I know it may be a long shot since it is a timeshare place, but I was wondering if anyone has stayed there and what their experiences were. Is it doable to walk to/from the park? How was the continental breakfast?

I'm a World Mark owner and I have NEVER stayed at Dolphin's Cove. It is always booked up, so I have no idea how nice the rooms are.

The one time I was able to book time there, I called the time share to confirm my reservation to find they had overbooked
(how do you overbook a timeshare? )
World Mark did change our reservations to a another hotel in the area that ended up being closer to Disneyland (like right across the street) which worked out in the end.

If you don't want to walk, you can take the ART buses...I've used them before, the service is really good.

Worldmark has another timeshare they opened up in Anaheim this year which we are booked for. So far it appears to be less popular than Dolphin's Cove because there is a room tax charge on it (works out to something like $100-175 a week depending on your unit size), while Dolphin's Cove doesn't. I'm not sure how walkable that one is going to be...I might have to take a shuttle this year, not that I mind. Why would I want to drive on my vacation?

We've stayed at Dolphin Cove twice. Its ok. We like that we get a kitchen and we always get the 2 bedroom. But it is older, and more like an apartment complex than a hotel. The pool and hot tub area is nice and you can go from to the other since they are in the same place. The breakfast/happy hour room is off the pool area so you can sit there to eat. It's nice to be able to that.

They don't have a daily continental breakfast but they do have a coffee and donut morning (free) and a pancake morning (fee). They also did bbq night ($5 pp) and free wine and cheese happy hour.

It's too far to walk so we drove and parked in the parking garage each day. My inlaws own this timeshare so when we stay it's free which is great!

Helps a TON! THanks! We are staying there next month. My mom is an owner with Shell Vacation Club and got 2 weeks free here so we ended up getting 2 1BR places. we are mostly excited about the kitchens. With 2 little ones and a tight budget we plan to do the majority of our meals there.

We have also stayed at the Dolphins Cove, and we are going back for a week in May. We booked it through our Worldmark membership, but it does not compare favorably to other Worldmark Resorts. It does not have all the amenties that the new WM resort has, but it is 1/2 the price.

Cons:
It was a longish walk, 20 minutes or so, but we walked it almost every day. One night I sent DH back to get the car and drive us back.

It is not a nice neighborhood across the street. The lot was gated, and we were fine walking at night.

Did not like the layout of the 1 bedroom units, to get to the bathroom you had to pass through the master bedroom. The studios and 2 bedrooms would not have this problem.

Pros:

I is a nice friendly place, the other guests are always nice oth WM resorts. My kids met other kids at the pool, and they hung out together all week.

The parking is close, covered and ample. We never had a problem finding a space close to our room.

The one bedroom suite was spacious, the kitchen had all the necessities. There was not a washer and dryer in the room, but there was a laundry room in the complex with a free washer and dryer.

It is just two levels, we stayed on the ground floor, and it was nice not dealing with elevators.


We liked enough that we would stay again. We stayed in the new resort in August and it was very nice, but expensive. The Dolphins Cove was a good value. We don't spend that much time in the rooms, we are really just wanting a place to crash.

I am glad that you posted this, we are staying there next month and it is always good to hear what other people think! We have three condos there through my inlaws timeshare group (global vacation network). I think it says on their website that they have a shuttle that you can take, which does cost a little bit but I think little kids are free.

What week will you be there?

Here is the prices for shuttle, which like the others said, comes every 30 minutes or so:

$4 per day per person (adults)
$10 for a 3 day pass (adults)
$1 per day for kids 3-9 years old. No multi day passes for children

We used the Anaheim shuttles last year from another hotel and they were fine. Takes you very close to the entrance which is nice. We are going to drive one day since we have a mini van and are going early for breakfast and it would actually be cheaper for us (4 adults, 2 kids) to park then shuttle. However we dont think we want to deal with driving/parking each day.
I have read on some reviews for this hotel to take a different number shuttle back as it is across the street from the hotel and much shorter ride. Let me do some research when I get a chance and I will post the shuttle numbers.

I agree it is not up to the other WM standards... and if your paying cash i think it's overpriced. but if your paying points may be okay..
