Megan is so wanting to stay there, but I know I can't afford the whole trip to stay, so thinking of splitting our stay and going there for 2-3 nights...can anyone give me any insight on which trails, floors, areas, etc are the best, will be staying in a savannah view room!

Thanks for your help, I really want to to be a very magical trip for her since not sure when we will get back again!

I love it, love it, love it, love it, love it X 10 million!!! It's my very favorite place in the World (and where we'll be in April!!). I have liked all of the trails. It takes my breath away every time!!!!

I've stayed at Jumbo, and really enjoyed it. I've seen a 1 bedroom at Kidana, it is gorgeous.

so as long as we have a savannah view are we okay? should I bother with any trail or floor requests?

I have only had a savannah view once most of the time we have a standard or pool view. I would suggest staying at Jambo rather than Kidani (there are more food choices). I have heard that the 2nd and 3rd floor have the best views but I can't tell you from first hand experience. There is a lot to do there as far as activities and such. We were just there for a few days about a week ago.

We stayed a couple of years ago before they opened the DVC. My sister gave us the night as a 30th anniv. present.

This is what we saw when we opened the curtains.

I know we were on the 5th floor but I think the lobby is on the 3rd floor. We did have a savannah view.

so I have a request into my TA to change our ressies - from 4/2 - 4/11 to -

new plans
arrive MCO 3/26 5:30 pm get car and drive up to GA ( 3 1/2 hrs) to see our friends
back to WDW on 3/29 (Megan's 11th bday) check into POP until 4/6 and then to AKL 4/6 - 4/9 leave for home at 6:30 pm

will give us 2 addtl days at disney!!

That sounds like an awesome plan!! We stayed on the 5th floor (like someone said, the lobby is the 3rd), and we had great views!! Everything was beautiful, and their list of activities there is amazing--they even have jewelry making! Definitely plan for some "down time" to explore the resort--and be prepared to take TONS of pics!!

We stayed in Jambo in Sept. 2007, and then we stayed in Kidani in October 2009. I love them both, but I'd have to say Jambo is my favorite (and is where we'll be in April) because, as Rebecca said, there are more food options. It'll be nice not to have to walk from Kidani to Jambo to get counter service.

We will definitely have to meet up for a treat or something at the resort!!!

Got it!!!:banana::banana::banana:

new plan
arrive MCO 3/26 drive up to GA to visit our dear friends
back to MCO 3/29 ME to POP
POP 3/29 - 4/6
AKL 4/6 - 4/9

so will have 10 ph tickets plus had to get 1day 1pk ticket due to DP, we have never had so much time in WDW!! so excited to finally be able to enjoy without having to be running crazy EVERY day!!
off to change my ticker!!!

YAY!!! And Yay for changing your ticker--plus, it reminded me to change mine! Mine was a day off!!

Brooke, have you ever done the sunset safari?

get to make my ADR's on 9/30!!

No, we've never done that one. I wonder if DS could go (he's 2). I bet it's AMAZING, though!!

My ADR date is 10/3, so a week from this Sunday!!! You get to make ADRs a week from today!! Woohooooo!!! :dance3::banana:

How exciting!!! Congrats on the add-on of AKL. It is our all time favorite resort as well. It's the reason we bought into DVC we loved it so much. While I do like the parking right below the building and the kids pool at Kidani, I agree with others that having the counter service convenience with Mara is a better choice.

Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks stacy, we are so looking forward to it!

Brooke, I posted the same ?? on the AKL thread, a lady there thought its for more for older kids as its the tour, lots of talking about the animals and then the dinner takes awhile too at Jiko, family style not from the menu. She stated "all long as the kids aren't expecting it to be a ride" and pretty much behave they should be okay. BTW, she doesn't have kids, so maybe she wasn't the best opinion :rotfl2:, you might want to call the tour dept and ask them, you can book it at the 180 day mark.

get to make our ADR's on 9/30 will be getting up at 3:00am, dang the time change, oh well if I get what we want its worth every bit of missed sleep!

Lisa - We did AKL Jambo last December...as long as you have a Sav. View, you'll be gold! It is A-MAZ-ING!!! A major highlight of our trip was pouring a nice glass of wine, sitting on our balcony and watching the animals. One noght we were able to watch them playing. The zebras were chasing each other in circles. I honestly don't think you could duplicate the experience anywhere else! I hope you guys really have a wonderful trip! The one word of advice...(I don't know what type of planner you are) don't pack your days too heavy. You really want to leave time to enjoy the resort!! There are tons of activities & things to look at!

thanks for the advice...since we are moving over to AKL the last 3 days of our trip I think our first day there we will just hang out and really enjoy all they have to offer and hopefully take the sunset safari too.
this will be the first time we won't have to be commando's each day, planning on taking our time and afternoon breaks, esp if its hot! I don't like the heat and have to be careful in it.
I did request a sav view, can't wait!
